(Maybe the ex-president of Senegal or Suriname) Had Gabriel París Gordillo lived another month and a half, it would have been him. The oldest living former head of state is now Johan Ferrier of Suriname, with Mamadou Dia of Senegal not far behind. These lists may be of some interest to you. Apperently Nguyen Ngoc Tho, first prime minister of Vietnam was forgotten. He became 100 in May. It's unknown whether he's alive or not. The article states he was last known to be alive in 1992. Here I just find it wholly inappropriate. Thanksgiving is about valuing what you have. I do not value the death of others but I observe it. I admit that I'm obsessed with what is happening in the world. I don't know exactly why I have this habit of scrolling through headlines of which many would consider morbid. It might involve the fact that I perceive the concept of this place in a different light then others. I'm generally not affected by much of which is contributed here. Banshees Scream 110 Posted December 5, 2008 Emperor Akihito of Japan has cancelled his duties for the third straight day. Akihito was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat approximately two weeks ago and was hospitalized after experiencing chest pains. He appears to be in stable condition but doctors are already saying that he is at risk of developing osteoporosis. The Emperor might be one to watch in the future. Given the article was in the Hindu, the so-called "National Newspaper", perhaps we can presume this is India throwing off further shackles of the Empire. Ungrateful sods.
