MLA for Dartmouth South (NS), Allen Rowe, is home recovering from 'a procudure'. Everyone is mum. Which makes this terribly interesting.

SC

"During this time, the release said Rowe and his family are asking for privacy. “Mr. Rowe is expected to return to his duties when his health allows,” the release said."

Can you dance on the head of a in more than that?

Did Geoffrey Howe resign on principle, or did he just throw his toys out of the pram.

Also news that Boris is standing for Parliament next year, so we need to look at elderly safe seat holders in the London area who are "politically frail".

Could Rifkind be moved upstairs?

if only Boris had waited a few months...

Missouri State Auditor Tom Schweich dies at 54:

http://www.kansascity.com/news/government-politics/article11231360.html

Apparently, it was a suicide by gunshot.

But there might be a lot more behind the scenes:

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/jay-dropping

Schweich was planning to run for governor, but the republicans tried to "smear" him by insinuating that Schweich was a jew. Anti-semitism seems to be a political factor in Missouri.

I don't understand. I don't see why a sane man would respond to a smear campaign by shooting himself. Is foul play involved? Is there such a campaing? Was Schweich suffering from delusions?

Questions.

Hein

"A day after quitting as Chairman of UN’s prestigious Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), TERI Director General RK Pachauri has been admitted to a city-based hospital for cardiac ailment. “His condition aggravated suddenly a few days back and he was rushed to hospital. He underwent stent procedure in 2010 and has been under constant medical monitoring since then,” said Pachauri’s lawyer Shankh Sengupta."

The question of where to post a specific death also confused me at the beginning. I've decided to only post in the "Deaths of 20xx" thread when it's hard to categorize the person or when a category for that person doesn't exist, or if I have nothing else to say about the death of that person except for the fact itself, which I try to avoid however.

Former Deputy PM and Kremlin opponent shot dead in Moscow.

This could have major repercussions.

One day before a major protest march... And a day after Russia had to increase the projection of the budget deficit.

At least he had a relatively quick death unlike poor Alexander Litvinenko.

"Several people" had got out of a car and shot him...

It certainly sounds like a politically motivated assassination, especially since he was trying to rally people against Putin's war in the Ukraine.

It should go in both. To not put every single death in the Dead of 2015 voids the forum entirely. So cuss of you and your ilk we gotta search 5 dozen forums. Gracias. That makes sense. Pfft
