This is certainly shaping up to be an interesting day.  Fatima Ali was my third rejected alt.obituaries deadpool pick to die in January.  However, that's not why I'm posting.  I had Bruce Corbitt in the Deadpool.  Also picked him last year.  However, he is not a guarantee to get a qualifying obituary.  None of the metal sites will suffice.  It needs to be picked up by either the local affiliate of a U.S. national network or Billboard, which profiled the band last August.  We will see.

Do you think the Dallas Observer would work?

Unfortunately, it didn't.  That's the one I originally sent.  Waiting to hear back on a 2nd option sent, but mostly just waiting to hear that Hulka has, himself, found an obit he'll accept.

Thanks for trying.

Billboard a slam dunk but the lesson here is don’t die on Friday afternoon if you want a quick QO.  If Monday goes by then I’d say you’re fekked.

Still unofficial as a hit, but Billboard did come through.

As is the case with many others, I have Andrew McGahan in the deadpool.  He'll be worth 14 points from everyone who selected him, once a QO comes down the wire.

Edit: Sent off the Sydney Morning Herald obit, which will be sufficient for the hit to score.

I also had McGahan on here. Surely many more people went for him...

It appears 12 people had him, none of whom was Gerard Tierney.

As soon as I saw that he was a solo, I posted it on the forum...

I’m referring to its being official.  Pretty sure aog who has everything to win would know if Billboard counted, he said it didn’t.  You say it does.  Does it?  Someone is an fool.

When I said 'Still unofficial as a hit, but Billboard did come through', what I meant was I hadn't yet heard back from Hulka and, as such, the hit was still considered as not yet having counted.  I knew the Billboard mention would be good as a source and it would count, it just hadn't yet been processed in the deadpool.

Another interesting day in Alt Obits. Emily Levine was rejected for me in Alt Obits, but I did have Paul Dewar on my list. I expect multiple teams to have him...

Ditto on both counts.  No bonus points as I already count more than three teams who picked him.

Really has been an interesting day. I also had John Cocksy Cocks on my list. A carry over, but also a replacement pick for a rejected name as I thought the trial might last him a while and kidney cancer doesn’t seem as deadly. Still, glad I carried him over especially since it means a daily double for me (and everyone else who picked him except Fisher)...

I couldn’t sleep all night thinking about this after I read it but my phone was dead, charger was out in work trailer, so I couldn’t respond.

Just how do you figure?  Y’all didn’t announce Cocks’ death til after 9:30 CST when I went to bed, and it had most certainly been 12-18 hours into the next day in Australia.  Assuming they announced his death rather quickly, it would have been the next goddamn day.

I’ll be watching very fucking close for this ‘daily double’ of yours.
