gcreptile 11,066 Posted January 21, 2019 We (cough... drol...) like to complain that nobody dies, but honestly, we lost quite a few veterans/mascots in the past year. Starting with Billy Graham, Karunanidhi, Tiwari, Overton and now Sri Sri. We lost a couple of eternal heads of state as well. Of course, Le Duc Anh still remains. And Kumar. And those who populate the upper regions of the deathlist. 4
gcreptile 11,066 Posted January 21, 2019 Oh and it also shows how deceiving the Indian press can be... selling a "going home to die" event as a "miraculous recovery".

Balbir Singh, whose children have just declared will make it to 100 on Facebook, and Li Rui (who went on to die in February 2019) (almost a year in hospital with multiple organ failure, on life support since the end of November) are excellent newcomers in the immortal list. Surely the Seer was the most immortal of them all, probably rivaled only by dear General Anh.

Death can only be a relief at this point, those final months if not years looked a pretty miserable existence. and yet he was never on the list !
Death Impends 8,043 Posted January 21, 2019 I mean in terms of forum popularity, as opposed to being on the list itself.
Life Is Beautiful 718 Posted January 22, 2019 RIP. All kidding aside, it's wonderfully amazing to continue doing humanitarian work until the very last days of your 111 year old existence.
