Guest ASDFK Posted July 28, 2005 Must be one of the last non-tv celebrities. Can't find any reference to her on the usually tediously incluisve IMDB. Even authors plug there books on TV these days and I don't think socialites exsist anymore.
football_fan 42 Posted July 28, 2005 what about Nan Kempner? She's also one of those NYC socialites, who is getting up there in years? Nan Kempner is also battling lung cancer and has an oxygen tank. Nan Kempner died of emphysema on July 3rd at age 74. Socialite Nan Kempner Dies at

Guest Tom Posted September 22, 2005 No, she's not. Ruby Muhammad, widow of Nation of Islam's Elijah M. celebrated her 108th birthday in march.

Windsor 2,233 Posted September 22, 2005 In all fairness, she is as much a celebrity as Brooke Astor.
Banshees Scream 110 Posted September 22, 2005 No, she's not. Ruby Muhammad, widow of Nation of Islam's Elijah M. celebrated her 108th birthday in march. Well she is infact one very very old woman. A super cenetarian is what they call it. I would guess she is famous enough to be on a future list if she's still alive but the DL commitee might just decline her chance due to the fact of her exstreme old age. They might just leave her be. I do suppose that at 109 in 2006 does remove the fun aspect. I am however considering her for my ddp. I thought super cenetarian is 110 years and over. Well actually there would be no loss of fun for me to see the to-be 109 year old on the list but i bet there would be quite a bit of abuse from the guests. Especially if Dr. Albert Hofmann and Brooke Astor are still around.
Tomb raider 9 Posted September 23, 2005 No, she's not. Ruby Muhammad, widow of Nation of Islam's Elijah M. celebrated her 108th birthday in march. She's no celebrity, sir. This being my maiden post as a registered user, I should practice modesty, but I've hung around long enough at Deathlist to know one might argue about this. I agree mrs Muhammad is of moderate fame, as is Brooke Astor herself. Having been married to some celebrity might not always suffice for a DL nomination, but as we're talking about a 108-years-old, you should be flexible (it's for a good cause). Actually, I would also support the inclusion of Ruby Mohammed name on the deathlist. In terms of famousness, she is not any less famous than Brooke Astor. In addition, at age 108 years, she is more likely to die than several of the people whose names are currently on the list.
Windsor 2,233 Posted September 24, 2005 As long as deathlist doesn't stoop to the likes of Henry Allingham, 109. He is a veteran of WW1 and now Britain's oldest man. I think he is out of the question. I was a bit surprised to see he him on the DDP. There are many others I disagree with including a former Secretary (or something) at Buckingham Palace (b.1901). That's just clutching at straws if you ask me.

Banshees Scream 110 Posted November 1, 2005 BROOKE ASTOR - DIE! DIE! DIE! Cos I've got you bagged as number 12 this year on the DL Forum. A very promising choice in my view. I can't see anyone lasting too long at 103 years old.
maryportfuncity 10,603 Posted November 2, 2005 Agreed but she's in some unhealthy company amongst the 38 others still breathing. I'll admit my choice was conservative because I simply the picked the oldest of a very old crowd. C'mon Astor - DIE! DIE! DIE!
Windsor 2,233 Posted November 4, 2005 I have always guessed that Astor would die next, then next, next again, and again and again. Brooke Astor has played such a huge part in my deathlist career and so it is an honour to post number 1000 here as a tribute to her. I do wish she would hurry on and die! Entropy, get on your phone to the Queen. I want a telegram! Oh thats right - you don't actually know her. You just think you do. 1000
