I don't think it's true. The few articles reporting it are being withdrawn and he is such a huge name his death should be all over Indian news.

Also here, and a lot of FB tributes. I think he's gone

I don't believe it until I see Times of India, Hindustan Times, Indian Express or other reputable sources.

This guy was like Bob Dylan in India, how come he is not getting obits hours after his alleged death? And no available obits have a date of death, which is a red flag by itself.

This seems more specific, but still not good enough.

I actually went through that list not long ago, checking who's alive and who's not and Bhardwaj caught my attention as someone who already looked pretty frail a decade ago (along with C. S. Radhadevi, Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman and P. R. Thilagam, the last who I consider a potential off-radar death as she was already quite frail in 2007 when she received Padma Shri and I can't find anything on her since)

Purna Das Baul is probably the most prominent and interesting one there (inspired Dylan and Mick Jagger, performed with Tina Turner, Joan Baez, Paul Robeson and Gordon Lightfoot, smoked weed with Charles Lloyd and members of The Band, performed in 168 countries) but seems that he's still performing, so might still live many more years.

SM Krishna now walks with a cane but seems to have recovered pretty well from his acute respiratory failure.

Suman Kalyanpur looked quite frail in my opinion, but not wheelchairbound

Jodhaiya Bai Baiga, nonagenarian artist, looked her age. So did 95-year-old Sikh scholar Rattan Singh Jaggi.

Guru Thiruvidaimarudur Kuppiah Kalyanasundara (had to copy paste the name from somewhere) looked frail, so did odisha puppet master Maguni Charan Kuanr.

V. P. Appukutta Poduval - looked absolutely amazing for 99.

Mangala Kanti Roy - Judging on his appearance I'll say no way he's 102. Our next Saalumarada Thimmakka/Pappammal.

Gurcharan Singh - first-class cricketer, looks fine for 87.

S. Subbaraman looked frail.

Prakash Chandra Sood - nuclear science professor. Looked frail and very thin to me.

Thomas Berly (1932) Malayam actor, director, producer, script writer and music composer.

Thomas Berly, Malaysm actor, director etc. and Indian cinema go-to guy when they needed a stereotypical Mexican guy, dead at 92.

Allegedly a cast member of Hollywood film Never So Few (1959) but I can't find that much proof. Lots of longevity in the cast, atleast Aki Aleong, Noel De Souza, James Hong, Charles Bateman and George Takei are still alive.
