Paul Ellering, born 70 years ago in Melrose, Minnesota, is a professional wrestling manager, former wrestler, and former American weightlifter and mushing man. He currently works for WWE, Paul was manager of the duo Akam and Rezar, known as The Authors of Pain. He has also managed the Road Warriors (Animal and Hawk) on two occasions and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011.

Tori Amos, born 60 years ago in Newton,North Carolina is an American singer, songwriter and pianist. Amos was at the forefront of a group of female singer-songwriters in the early 1990s, notably early in her career as one of the few female pop singers and performers to use the piano as her primary instrument.

João Batista da Silva was born in João Pessoa and is 60 years old. Specialized in short distance running, he competed in the 200m final and came in 4th place with a time of 20.30 seconds at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, United States.

@diego -  you should leave the state in for the Americans; I thought for a second that Tori was from the Boston area and why hadn't I heard that before, but she's not at all. We repeat town names all over the country, ie most states have a Springfield or Arlington.

Just thought I’d mention that it was my birthday today.  I would have been officially classed as a pensioner but, thanks to our government, I’ll have to wait another year before I can claim that honour.

Raúl Cubas Grau was born 80 years ago in Asunción. He was president of his country from August 15, 1998 to March 23, 1999. He resigned after the assassination of his vice president, Luis María Argaña. One of the richest men in his country, Cubas owned Construtora 14 de Julio, one of the companies that participated in the construction of the Itaipu hydroelectric plant. Toast, yes, Mrs Bearer got me a (retro) record player. I love it.  As well as the record deck, it has Bluetooth, cassette, radio and all the other things we used to have in the “olden days”.  My vinyl collection will be getting well and truly played.
