As an inveterate thanatologist I have been enjoying your website for a

number of years and this is the best yet! 13! well done - and the year

isn't over yet. My money's on the pope.....

For next year's list I would like to suggest Margaret Thatcher as I

believe she will not last v. long without her precious Denis. She is

already looking very frail (good thing you cannot see the smirk on my

face as I write this) so I hope she lasts until January at least.

Keep up the good work!

all the best,

Kate

Thanks for your message. Mrs T does indeed need serious consideration for

next year's list. With 14 dead this year, DeathList 2004 will require lots

of new blood. The passing earlier this year of Denis is, of course, a good

sign that she might now throw in the towel in the not too distant future. :P

Thanks for your support.

A popular choice indeed - although lets hope its not just wishful thinking :P

Mrs T's health is due for some extensive deathlist research and careful consideration for DeathList 2004.

Cheers

Margaret Thatcher, Britain's much-loved former Prime Minister, appears to be a popular nomination for the 2004 list.

Is she worthy of inclusion?

Hey, that's my ex-grilfriend you're talkin about. And she did something your soccer team always struggled to do - kicked some Argentine butt.

Although she did look pretty far gone in those pics in the Sunday Times a few weeks back....

Maggie will never "officially" be declared dead, she'll be immediately embalmed, stuffed and wheeled out at every Conservative conference for a rallying call.

She's down to regain leadership and become PM in 2011 and then in 2014 she's due to start up-front with Brooklyn Beckham when we stuff the Argies 1-0 in the World Cup Final.....such happy times ahead!

Don't mean to sound picky but Brooklyn will only be 15 in 2014....

If you're good enough you're old enough...he'll be the youngest ever to represent England, until he has to go off at half-time with a groin strain ( an old text injury) to be replaced by Romeo who will be only 12.

Maybe the half time whistle can be replaced with the classic nokia text alert - beep beep, beep beep...

After watching aspects of Ronald Reagan's funeral i have only just noticed how frial + confussed looking Margaret Thatcher is . The fact that she had to pre-record her her speech at funeral and not actual go up and say it herself has surely says something about her condition and she sure sounded as if she had a stroke. Though early reports sugested her health wasn't up to going to "Ronnie's Funeral" ( as she refered to him more than once) , she obviously took no notice of who ever told her it wasn't a good idea that she should go, she is obviously just proving a point that she still "able" but she is kidding no one. So i think she should be considered for the 2005 list as it looks as she hasn't got much longer to go!!!!!!! though it would be nice to see a right-winger last 4 ever but in her case it looks as if she wont. Does any1 agree

Pluss i think Queen Juliana's husband, Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands (93 this month), should also be considred as a BBC' s news website has a photograph of him colapsing at Queen Juliana's funeral. This Can be seen on BBC NEWS , in pictures: Queen Juliana's Funeral

Again, does any1 agree?

The Baroness Thatcher is not doing well at all. According to a Daily Mirror article (ok, not the greatest source), she is slipping into dementia. On her doctor's advice, she has retired completely from public speaking, after suffering several small strokes. A definite possibility for 2005.

Yeah, Maggie should definitely be included. You will have plenty of volunteers to help finish her off, if she doesn't naturally expire ;)

Considering dear hubby Dennis expired not too long ago, surely Maggie's will-to-live has been dampened.

And talking of cantankerous old right-wing farts, why is Philip 'The Greek' looking so healthy for a 80-something year old? Surely his time should be up by now?
