  Ok ….. I am constantly checking the news to see what celebrity died today.  Does anyone else do this?  And when I hear a song on the radio, I say if they are dead or are on the death list.

     I am a little obsessed

    The news be cut-throat depressing

But I always look once in a while at list of notable deaths on wikipedia :skull:

Take this circle-jerk to a PM or the appropriate thread.

Just because Twitter/Reddit are dying doesn't mean we should turn this site into them.

Well folks, I think it's safe to say Twitter is as good as dead at this point. Not too long ago I posted here about Twitter disabling search access to anonymous users and lurkers, I had a feeling that it wasn't going to stop there and that eventually they would disable anonymous access entirely and sure enough, they have done it. Twitter have completely disabled their site towards anonymous viewers and you are now forced to log in just to view the site.

Twitter was one of my primary sources to find out info about the status of lesser known famous people who've not been around in the public eye such as B List NASCAR drivers or club level Spanish footballers, so with the site now inaccessible it just becomes harder to do that.

    --snip--

Just create an account? Facebook/Instagram has been that way for a while....

Had a difficult time deciding where to put this: Jack Hanna, zookeeper and television celebrity, has Alzheimer’s. He was always fun on Letterman and seems like a decent guy. He’s 76 and will definitely obit. From the article it sounds very advanced.

This was originally posted/mentioned back in 2021 on the forum.

It's been well known for a few years now. Shame that it is advancing so quickly though.

She's 82, presumably another ad for autotune?

Why can't geriatric "pop stars" retire gracefully?

They're worth millions so it must be vanity and narcissism.

They aren't worth as much as you think. A lot of that money gets burned by family, lawyers, taxes, etc.

    Take two.

After eleven months, in which time the game creator abandoned the pool and left me to take over as unofficial host, we finally have a proper winner (with a QO this time).

Congratulations @MortalCaso, the winner of the first Crazy Eight Deadpool!

Their pick, Unabomber Ted Kaczynski, died on 10th June 2023, having committed suicide in his cell.

My condolences to WEP, whose pick Jenny Oldfield didn't obit in time to win.

Once again, please let me know if I have missed any hits.

Well, can't say I wanted my first pool win on this site to be from a technicality!

Thank you for hosting @Summer in Transylvania, I hope you will start a new game soon. ,My condolences @WEP

Kinda shocking out of all those names, a suicide determined a winner.

  6. Jesus this thread has been cluster-fucked out of usefulness.

I wish we could rewind the tape to about a year ago. Thanks @Hanzem + @arghton for your contributions.

Anyone care to do an updated Top 10, I'd be interested to see the health status as well. :P

Yeah, not sure about what to do with him. Can I replace him? Is he a hit? Or is it simply over?

    It's not over!

If we can find evidence he died when listed, 2014, it will be a DQ and the replacement/sub will slot in.

I'm inclined to prevent a replacement/sub until either it is confirmed he is dead or your other pick (Luke Halpin) dies.

For now, we shall let it rest. Considering Luke Halpin is in horrible health....I doubt this will be the last we hear of this ;)
