OK now that it's been made public that I'll be co-hosting the DDP starting next year, I've decided to retire from hosting the Inverse. Even if the front page role of DDP hosting is admittedly the most low maintenance part, I think it's wisest to self-impose a two-pool hosting limit (and there aren't enough people who understand the HPDP so I am obliged to stick with that one )

 

If anyone is interested in taking over hosting duties let me know.

Are you seeing out the year and looking for a 2022 host, or is this an immediate-effect resignation?

The hosting is for 2022 onwards, yes.

 

If you have a good handle on spreadsheets it's pretty straightforward. My Excel file has a few different pages for each year, of the picks, the teams, the scoreboard, and the popularity statistics. After the entry period closes, an update typically takes me 10 minutes, with about 8 of them spent thinking of shite puns regarding the dearly departed celeb.

If I may add to this, the host of the Inverse gets the 50 eligible names from the DDP host/committee. It happens once all teams are entered into the database and the access file spits out a counting of all the names, which is usually around January 10th-15th.
