I gave up on The Wire because I couldn’t understand a word they were saying but friends are imploring me to try again with the subtitles on so I might revisit this winter. I had a similar thing with True Detective; it being on Now TV, there were no subtitles available, and trying to decipher Woody Harrelson's southern drawl was too much like hard work. Pity, because I'd heard/read good things about it. With BB I thought that didn't really get going until Gus Fring became the focus as the baddie, though it was watchable enough for me. This is taking too long... Luckily it wasn't "cancelled" (I prefer to say "dropped"). I'm amazed and thankful that they actually went ahead and made S5 during the pandemic.
