Pumping Them Out In The Birthing Pool

Recommended Posts

I have decided to resurrect this pool.

The game is simple. Pick 20 celebrities who will have a child  in either 2022 or 2023.

Rules:(Mostly the same as Heef’s original rules with a couple of changes)

1. Teams have to be sent in by 31/12/202. Please send teams to me via PM and do not post on the thread.

2. You can pick either the mother or father of the child, but the parent has to be a celebrity.

3. You score points once the celebrity, celebrity's partner, surrogate  gives birth or the adoption of a baby under 8 weeks old is announced.

4. The qualifying source is either a newspaper report or a post on verified social media account belonging to the Celeb or their partner.

4. Celebrity is defined by the pick having a Wikipedia page that existed before 1st December 2021.

5. You can't pick both likely parents of the same child in the event that both mother and father count as celebrities

6. If there is any public doubt as to the identity of the father of the child, then the pick will be 'lost'

7. Picks must be legal (i.e. the parent must be over the age of consent in their home country)

8. No pregnancy that has been officially announced or reported in a Q/O source as a strong rumour is allowed.
9. Any pregnancy that is announced between now and the deadline will not be eligible for points and you can chose to then withdraw that celebrity and replace them (but can also keep them in case their have a second birth in 2023).
10. Each team is allowed one joker who can gain double points.

Age of parent at time of birth:

Mother:

17-30: 10 points

31-35: 15 points

36-40: 20 points

41-50: 40 points

51+: 100 points

Father:

17-30: 10 points

31-40: 15 points

41-50: 20 points

51-60: 40 points

61-70: 70 points

71+: 100 points

Let the predicting comence.

There's certainly lots of clues for participants in this pool in another thread!

I’ve just added a new rule that no already announced pregnancies are allowed.

I can't believe it, such bad luck! Betty White can't be one of my picks here. :(

Have entered a team. I try to avoid 'the other thread' wherever possible so had a pleasant time choosing 19 women of child-bearing age with whom I wouldn't mind procreating. And Scarlett Moffatt, who will do anything for publicity.

Lady Gabriella  Kingston , daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent so formerly  Lady Gabriella  Windsor,  is 41 next  year and I feel would be a good name for contestants  in this pool to consider.

@The Old Crem In relation to rule 3 I would like to seek some clarification  please because that rule taken at face value would exclude any celebrity who becomes  a parent via surrogacy.

So what are the rules of this pool please regarding picks  or names who go the  surrogacy route?

Because if this pool had been held a year ago names like Liz Kendall and Lance Bass would have been excluded.

There are also plenty of famous people I could imagine going this route in the near future.  Especially as there are a record number of out gay mps in the UK. Eg Wes Streeting,  Luke Pollard, Peter Kyle and Lee Rowley.

Not that surrogacy is the exclusive preserve of gay men eg Kim Kardashian.

Also I suppose similar points apply to adoption?

I have decided Surrogacy is allowed and adoption as long as evidence that the child was in the custody of the celeb within 8 weeks of birth is provided. I will amend the rules.

I thought about including Beatrice and/or Eugenie but they have literally just given birth and may want to wait a year or two.

No, they haven't.  Their babies were born in September and February respectively.

A classic example of the popular misuse of "literally".

Well that might not be a bad choice as Beatrice was born in 1988 and Eugenie  1990 - so two years apart.  If either girl does the same as their parents  a new sibling could be born in  2023 which would cover the time period of the competition.
