Anyway, he died from cardiac arrest after an anaphylactic shock in reaction to medication injected during a medical examination. Wonder which one of the Splendid's troup will be the next one to go ? After Pierre Christin yesterday, another French A-lister gone by tomorrow ? These news probably belong in the French speaking deathlist though but anyway, I get that it's becoming a French topic here, I don't mind His death is a shock ! In April, it was his last public apparition :

I know it's a shock, don't get me wrong, he was an A-List celeb I know that, but I feel like his death receives more media coverage and reaction than the one of Delon for example, which seems quite odd to me… maybe it's due to its age and unexpectedness… edit : he did receive a Mirror obit btw, not that it's important as he wasn't a ddp pick but still
Fantomasss 208 Posted October 4 I'm not surprised for media reaction. He was still active and Splendid has made lot of the Lost famous french movies ! Médias qualified him as a French Woody Allen about the kind of character he could be in his movies

Lafaucheuse 4,038 Posted 16 hours ago we're currently organizing our 2025 French list, hoping it'll be as good as this first edition turned out to be ! Last year was so disappointing in terms of french deaths that a lot of lingerers have finally proved to be good calls this year. What impresses me is the quality of hits : almost exclusively A-list and legends scoring this year (Delon, Badinter, Hardy, Presle, De Gaulle, Dumas…) I think we can expect a few more hits (Le Pen being the obvious one right now). A few immortals remain such as Morin, Chirac, Laborde, Chandernargor and Bouvard (who recently withdrew from his monthly radio chronicle due to health problem, 96 in a week or two) which, if they survives the year, bodes well for the future. Let's wait and see ! Obits for Dumont to come (and Delon which I completely forgot…)
Fantomasss 208 Posted 8 hours ago I'm not sure but I think that Dumont was the last celebrity still alive to have collaborated with Edith Piaf. Or do you know another people ? I think to Line Renaud that Edith Piaf hated, who could be the last to have had an interaction with Piaf, but in a bad sense...

Line Renaud, 96, WAS a collaborator of Piaf's though. She co-starred opposite Piaf in the movie Boum sur Paris (1953, wiki), so she counts. She also co-starred with Piaf in the 1951 movie Paris Still Sings (wiki). Brigitte Bardot, 90, co-starred with Piaf in Royal Affairs in Versailles (1954, wiki). Piaf also starred in an obscure Mexican film in 1958 called Música de siempre (wiki). At least 2 of her co-stars are still alive from that flick – American actress Tongolele, 92, and Mexican Golden Age child actress Angélica María, 80. Mike Stoller, 91, co-wrote the music for her famous song "L'Homme à la moto", but as she covered the song rather than originally record, it's doubtful as to whether they actually collaborated. In terms of people who duetted with Piaf, I think they're all dead.
