I may be wrong, but isn't 25 the maximum number of names that the committee can carry over to the following year?   They can ditch more than 25 if they wish?

That's right. DL 2024 has only 24 names from last years list.

@Bibliogryphon I know that the game is over now, since the 20 names have already been eliminated, but I wanted to ask you if we can continue removing and adding points to the names until in the end there is only 1 name left? I really liked this game, obviously that would not influence the result, these are the 25 names that should remain, if you want to at least create another thread to continue this game.

Seems boring. Obvious final 2.

I don't really see the point. If I repeat this next year I will start much later

imho, dropping Imelda Marcos, Buzz Aldrin and Raul Castro is not a great idea… Ted Turner and Tom Brokaw on the other hands doesn't seem at death door yet…

Can you make a list of those rejected in order of them eviction ?

How many people left on this year's list seemed like a cert at the beginning? Who knows anymore...

I would also like to see that list of rejected candidates though!

Ted Turner has had Lewy Body Dementia since at least 2018. Would be a strong pick in 2025 if still alive, as 7 years is on the high end of life expectancy for people with that disease.

Tom Brokaw had some reporting that he’s receiving around the clock care now, definitely seems like his cancer progressed

The situation is difficult, given the few hits that the list has had this year, even so I think that we will have at least 2 more hits before this year ends, I would take into account Buzz Aldrin, Raul Castro and Imelda Marcos, they are the ones who I am more concerned that they will be left off the list, also Aldrin posted on Twitter recently.

Wheelchair and on oxygen ? Goes with my previous assesments : don’t drop him. As it been reported in his thread ?
concerning Brokaw, didn’t know about the news about his cancer progressing. Just didn’t look bas in recent pictures. And Ted Turner… I just don’t care about him at this point, should have died years ago so doesn’t strike me as a imminent faller that’s all
