She looks very tired, expecially considering how lively she was just some months ago. Still if Nguyen Con can survive, so can she.

Italy's oldest person, Ida Zoccarato, dead at 112.

Survived COVID and a heart attack in 2020. Now the oldest one is 111-years old Angela Tiraboschi (yes, Italy is currently sucking at supercentenarians), but the oldest Italian-born person is Delio Venturotti, who is impressively still going strong at 112.

Of course. Giovanni Frau (January 2002-April 2003), Antonio Todde (March 2001-January 2002), Antonio Baldo (January 1998-August 1998) and some other less recently.

Ok I just looked, Frau and Baldo were oldest person alive just for a month, preceded by Chiacchiani and Fumarola but the kingdom of Todde may have lasted almost three years since the death of Petraccone in October '99.

According to Wikipedia the oldest woman alive in Italy seems to be Caterina Abate, 20 days younger than Delio

Because that's arbitrary and incomplete.

Isn't the new world's oldest man Juan Vicente Pérez Mora of Venezuela?

Born 27 May 1909 (so older than Delio Venturotti who was born 25 Oct 1909).

Here's a photo of him from his 112th:

He's holding a certificate signed by Dr. Robert Young (@drol's best mate).

He has said that this plaque is not official, but family-made.

I am not sure if he can be validated.

Ridicolous that every time one of them dies, everyone at the 110 club is shocked and news is always unexpected.

I mean, he was a 112-year old in a wheelchair, what the hell do you expect?

Problem is limited resources and staffing at the GRG. They can't validate cases quick enough.

A huge failure on the part of that body is that it has barely expanded during the entirety of its existence (since 1990). It exists as a niche group, with its head spending far too much of his own time chatting on an online forum like an amateur.

Long before now, he should have appointed a board, a director and put at the heart of it a goal to drive fundraising efforts and maximise donors so that they could expand and grow.

Their website was clearly built in the 90s as the userface looks like a piece of shit. Their "donate" tab doesn't even have anything written on it about why you should give and what it will mean. There's just an ancient PayPal box. *sigh*

EDIT: Actually, I hadn't even noticed that they've all but abandoned their website since 2018! Seems they do everything through the forum chat now. *double sigh*

Picture from Italian-born Brazilian supercentenarian Delio Venturotti's (25 Oct 1909-) 112th birthday, a week ago.

He's one of the seven (less or more) living men born before 1910 with:

Saturnino de la Fuente Garcia (11 Feb 1909-18 Jan 2022) Spain

Ivo Gomes Barbosa (15 May 1909-in limbo since 2020) Brazil

Juan Vicente Perez Mora (27 May 1909-) Venezuela

Marcel Meys (12 July 1909-15 Dec 2021) France

Geraldo de Jesus (2 Aug 1909-) Brazil

Lawrence Brooks (12 Sept 1909-4 Jan 2022) United States

and Venturotti, all 112.

Geraldo de Jesus is bedridden but lucid, Saturnino is in a wheelchair. The others seem to still be able to stand, Brooks could stand on his 112th without any aid.

Only 2-4 men from 1909 and the 1900s living now. Barbosa seems to be a claimant? and probably dead. A year ago there were 14.

Saturnino dl Fuente Garcia declined pretty fastly during his year, but that's usually the way it goes.

The class of 1910 men is still strong, but we'll see how many are still alive in 2023, here are the (known) ones remaining from 1909 and 1910. Still a lot of people blocking some Indian news sites from calling Fauja Singh the "world's oldest man":

Pictures of some below their name. Now also with the 1911 cohort.

Vicente Ramon Perez Uzcategui (14 August 1907?-19 January 2022) Claimant from Venezuela. Died at 114? Young was curious about his case.

Juan Vicente Perez Mora (27 May 1909-2 April 2024) Oldest documented person from Venezuela. I won't say that he's in good condition because he'll probably die tomorrow if I do.

vicentepm.png.80a15693af3844fe96eb4679e6927c6e.png

You know, they're already calling me the next Jiroemon Kimura at 110club...

Geraldo de Jesus (2 August 1909-9 February 2022) Bedridden but lucid in October 2021. Died in February 2022.

Delio Venturotti (25 October 1909-1 June 2022) See Perez Mora.

venturotti.png.b4c0122971af803a484305b1943a4573.png

Eusebio Quintero Lopez (6 Mar 1910-16 July 2023) Oldest documented man from Colombia. Could still talk and stand in January 2021.

Efrain Antonio Rios Garcia (4 April 1910-11 January 2024) Also from Colombia.

Stanislaw Kowalski (14 April 1910-5 April 2022) Our favourite ancient runner.

Mikizo Ueda (11 May 1910-9 September 2022) Witnessed the Hiroshima bombing, seems like a great guy.

Victor Chanca Santos aka. Don Cumpita (14 June 1910-9 November 2022) Wheelchair-bound on his 110th. Oldest man in Peru ever if he's alive.

Tao Ruisheng (16 July 1910-2022) Fall in 2018, seems to be bedbound and frail now. Lives at home.

ruisheng.png.7d39f496551902b5240a28c46a1a73fd.png

Chen Zhongbo (18 August 1910-2022) Wheelchair-bound. Apparently had a surgery at 97 but his family didn't tell him what his illness was.

Ja Hyung Lee (27 August 1910-12 February 2022) South Korea-Canada. Could still walk with a walker in September. One of the oldest people in Canada.

Andre Boite (6 December 1910-15 July 2022) Oldest man in France, WWII POW. In a wheelchair.

Yang Longsheng (13 December 1910-2023) If there's someone whose health you can call "tragic", it's this guy. He's the male variant of the supercentenarians like Kura Bingo, Fusa Tatsumi etc, he's been bedbound and ultrafrail for the last 4 years. But still lucid. Actually he's in pretty decent health currently.

longsheng.png.d5d239ed8728b0dacc12321780374060.png

Ezra Hill (19 December 1910-4 October 2022) Oldest US man after Brooks died.

Shigeru Nakamura (11 January 1911-15 November 2022) Japan, wheelchairbound.

Shen Guangyuan (18 January 1911-2022) China. "Leading educator" in Chongming district.

Hilario Vasconcelos (6 March 1911-28 June 2022) Brazil, worked at rubber plantations during WWII.

Shiro Moriyama (6 March 1911-19 March 2022) Japan, in decent condition.

Francisco Juarez Iglesias (7 May 1911-25 October 2022) Mexico. Could stand without aid at 109.

Virgilio Medeiros (2 July 1911-26 November 2022) Brazil.

Anonymous of Ireland (2 July 1911-ca. July 2022) Ireland, first Irish man to reach 110 and excluding emigrants, the fourth-oldest Irish person ever.

Santos Rivas (17 August 1911-17 April 2023) El Salvador.

Giles Cropsey (4 September 1911-14 September 2022) US, California. Has "beginning dementia"

Saburo Sueto (12 September 1911-OTR ca. November 2021) Japan.

Josias de Oliveira (21 October 1911-) Brazil.

Gisaburo Sonobe (6 November 1911-) Japan.

Valoy Ortiz (20 November 1911-18 March 2022) Uruguay, first Uruguayan man to reach 110.

Reuben Sinclair (5 December 1911-28 August 2023) Canada, oldest Canadian-born man.

Likely claimants, some could be dead already:

Rufino Roadel (10 April 1907?-OTR 2020/2021?) Philippines, frail years ago.

Jose Flores Flores (11 July 1907?-) Costa Rica. Remove 20-25 years and you'll get a more likely age, no way he'll ever get validated. Seems like his actual birthyear was 1927.

Joao Moreira Gomes (15 December 1907?-OTR c. 18 August 2021) Brazil.

Mykolo Kyguolio (September 1908?-In limbo since June 2021, dead) Lithuania, very frail, nearly deaf and bedbound for years. Family claims he was born in 1919, passport says 1908. Dead as he was no longer reported the oldest man in Lithuania

Zhang Deshan (1908/1909?-limbo since 2022, DEAD) China-Taiwan, remove around 10 years. A man born 1913 was mentioned the oldest in Taiwan in 2023 which means he's dead.

Modesto Lopez Bautista (17 January 1909?-22 January 2023) Mexican-American. Again, remove around 20 years. Wheelchairbound.

Pauline Boulangger Mogollon (17 August 1909?-6 December 2021) Claims to be 119, I don't know if he's "even" 112. Frail, died off-radar

Seliman Bandang (21 March 1910?-19 August 2023) "Verified" by some bs "Malaysian book of records", judging on how he looks probably younger than PM Mahathir M. However he's also now wheelchairbound.

Lorenzo Cayunao Millan (15 May 1910-March 2023 OTR) Possibly the oldest man in Chile. Moved here Aug 2023.

Otilio Dominguez Santos (15 June 1910-20 December 2023) Wheelchair-bound in December. Moved here Aug 2023.

Pedro Antonio "Pe Pipi" Rodrigues (12 December 1910?/1925-) Cape Verde.

Carlos Julio Rincon Garzon (24 December 1910/1915?-) Also Colombian. Orphan, lived a nomadic lifestyle and played music for people while travelling. Could still stand in March 2021. As of 2022 considered to be a potential fraudster like Zouein and probably born 1915. Moved here Aug 2023.

Francis Zouein (1 January 1911-24 January 2024) Lebanon-US. Young doesn't think he's 111. Moved here Aug 2023.

John Wafula Ogwero (28 February 1911?-limbo for 2+ years, probably dead) Uganda. Out of these probably the most likely to be what he claims he is, however I seriously doubt he could ever get validated.

Fauja Singh (1 April 1911?-) India-UK. Most famous out of these but everything about him screams that he's atleast 10 years younger. Likely born ca. 1928. Very frail.

Goncalino Norberto (8 August 1911-5 November 2023) Brazil, in decent condition. Seems his more likely birthdate is 1921.

Alphonse Rubunda (21 August 1911?-December 2021 or January 2022) Republic of the Congo-Finland. Again, tiny chance he could be his age but will never get validated due to the lack of records. Frail. Died in January 2021/December 2022.

Abilio Borges Moreira (9 September 1911-) 2023 new addition.

Siu Kiu Chau (8 December 1911?-18 May 2023) Hong Kong/UK.

Extreme longevity "claimants" (fakers):

Billafunda (Siddha) Sayadaw U.Kowida ("906"/"968"-DEAD) Burmese, most extreme modern longevity myth where the person actually exists. I doubt we'll ever know when he/the person who impersonates this guy for photos "dies", the impostor of him is likely already dead too.

Swami Sivananda ("8 August 1896"-) Indian guru. Probably really around 85. Clearly a claimant, but has grown very frail.

Manuel Garcia Hernandez ("24 December 1896"-) Mexico, probably really around 90. Frail and widowed in 2010, old claim promoted by Daily Mail in 2018. In limbo currently but I expect his death to be reported when he dies.

Sebastiao Batista dos Santos ("15 March 1902"-) Brazil, his age is complete bullshit and he's probably around 80 or less.

Jesus Elias Loaiza Arenas ("22 February 1905"/13 September 1920-15 February 2024) Colombia, apparently using the birth record of his older brother and really "only" 101. Frailish, on the radar of 110club users since 2015.

Samwel Nthigai Mburia ("1906"-) Kenya.

Elias Chavez Alvarez ("8 November 1908", actually likely 1928-) Mexico.
