Magere Hein 1,400 Posted July 26, 2005 Sorry Hein but I'm an Ajax fan, for almost as long as I've been a United fan. There's nothing wrong with that. It's a bit like people from Amsterdam. They have a good heart. It just ought to be cooked and hung on their backs, low enough for the dogs to reach it. How's that for my 500th post? regards, Hein
Guest IYG Posted July 26, 2005 How's that for my 500th post? Absolutely perfect. Could you perhaps tell me about the stories I've heard that quite a few of the Rotterdam fans are anti-semitic. I know some of the Lazio fans are but Rotterdam has always been stories so far.

I know some of the Lazio fans are but Rotterdam has always been stories so far. Ah. Well. Cough. It's true that Feyenoord supporters often use anti-semitic gestures, songs and slogans. It's quite disgusting, but I'm not sure it's anti-semitism rather than anti-Ajaxism. Ajax has some Jewish background and its supporters ostentatiously identify with that, waiving the flag of Israel and sporting the shield of David. I think it's more a reaction to that than true anti-semitism, but I can't rule out the possibility. Anyway, anti-semitism is pretty rare in the Netherlands, if only because we haven't got many jews. Anymore, that is. regards, Hein

Slave to the Grave 26 Posted July 27, 2005 (edited) White Hart Lane??? That's Totenham ain't it? Ronny Rosenthal. I think during Ronny's brief spell, the Stars of David on show fell dramatically. In all seriousness though the location of the Tottenham Hotspur football ground meant that historically there was/is a high proportion of Jewish supporters. Dr Strangelove 14 Posted July 27, 2005 Erm, why is Josco described as a "Tosser"?Surely that's not something to look forward to when you've notched up 800 posts? It was I who suggested it publicly, though I'm sure I wasn't the first to think of it. Now I am getting close to being hoist by my own petard unless the mods are friendly enough to do a bit of goalpost-moving from time to time. In that post you just suggested he was sulking and that they think of "an appropriate" title for Josco. You didn't yourself suggest that particular unfortunate title. No, not specifically, I merely meant to indicate that I have the utmost faith in our moderators' judgement as to what is appropriate or not and their ability to select something accordingly. Now please stop trying to provoke me to make postings so that I, too have more that 800. Anyone would think it wasn't something to be proud of. <edit> A propos de Josco, this has been discovered round his way. I wonder if he knows about it? I'm not sure he's talking to me at the moment. </edit>

Magere Hein 1,400 Posted July 28, 2005 It is a site of sublime genius. Indeed. Mysterious and strangely poetic. From that webpage: Asananc connects, via a big brass pipe, to an enormous frozen lake, fifty seven miles directly below. The explorer Lady Louise Kenilbaker was last seen alive here in 1924 as she entered Asananc, against all advice, on a personal quest to make contact with deep level ice-children. Asananc is not recorded on any OS map, but there are pencil sketches by Rushmount in the British Museum. regards, Hein

Harvester Of Souls 40 Posted September 8, 2005 An inebriated Belgian woman died in a freak accident when she ended up beneath a heavy grave stone at a cemetery, local news agency Belga said on Wednesday. The 33-year-old was on her way home from a bar in the Belgian town of Pulle in the early hours of Saturday when she took a short cut through the cemetery. But she urgently needed to relieve herself and crouched down between two gravestones. As she lost her balance, she grabbed one of the stones which gave way and landed on top of her. The public prosecutor's office said she died of suffocation as she was unable to lift the heavy stone. That'll teach her to take the piss out of the reaper...
