The BBC news website is now reporting that the Pope has sent a "special blessing" to Prince Rainier. :o:D

What do you think he said: "sooner you than me?"

Maybe he asked him to tell him what it's like on the other side. :D

According to the palace, Rainier III continues to rapidly deteriorate despite intensive medical efforts. I believe the DeathList will come to regret ignoring Rainier's name for this year's list.

Apparently Rainier's internal organs which were failing are now stabilising. There is still a chance he might die i suppose. If not he could at least abdicate.

Doesn't look like Prince Rainier has much time left as BBC, Hello and Wiki are all reporting that Prince Albert has taken regin of Monaco due to his father being to ill to carry out offical duties.

BBC reports that Prince Rainier is fading rapidly.

Obviously not a shadow of his former self.

Would two deaths in one day be a first for the Deathlist?

Would two deaths in one day be a first for the Deathlist?

Two deaths for one person would be a first for anyone that's for sure.

I think back when Dudley Moore and Milton Berle died in 2002 that was the same day. Anyway DeathList doesn't have both Rainier and the Pope! :)

Ah but this is where you are right and wrong all at the same time. You see on this day as the news of The Pope passing reaches his faithful in New York City it is true, it is a Rainier day than we've had for at least a week. So in conclusion a Rainier Pope on the same day. :pop: (and of course he was a rainier Pope when he spoke in the Boston Commons area years back on a rainy day as compared to his New York City Central Park sunny day appearance).

All a matter of how you choose to look at it. Okay, okay! I'm leaving. :P

The German photo magazines without actually saying "he is dead" are talking as though Rainier were already gone.

Probably they had a deadline and were pretty sure he would die before the edition hit the streets. But he didn't. :referee:
