bigboy 0 Posted September 10, 2005 Am I the only Australian in the list? Born in Scotland however, have had the operation and been an 'aussie' 20 years. Speaking of which, I reckon Paul Hogan is looking good gor 2006. Bigboy
honez 79 Posted September 10, 2005 Am I the only Australian in the list?Born in Scotland however, have had the operation and been an 'aussie' 20 years. Nope. I think you'll find the "Southern Correspondent" position was filled by this Welsh import some time ago. (Sorry Gunjaman) PS Welcome to the list. We could do with a bit less northern hemispherian influence.
The Four Horsemen 26 Posted September 10, 2005 Is that like the Missionary Position, Honez? Only upside down, possibly? And in answer to Mr Josco, Letchworth - the other 2 filled the podium places I'm afraid!
Typhoid Harry 23 Posted September 10, 2005 "I like to insult people, blah blah blah." Is not what I actually psoted but it was nice of some a@@ehole to fix it for me. What I actually said was that it was surprising to see that this thread had been started by someone who had two days earlier sent me an unsolicited personal message telling me to be "relative" [sic] aviod being "silly" , stick to talking about the DL itself, and that this was a "mature" forum to which I should only contribute if I was not "letting out pent up energies". I personally fail to see how "where are you from" fits into all of these categories bit I am gald that the same person who feels he is within his rights to send patronising e-mails to strangers also feels he should edit thier posts to. p.s. If you want to delete this could you at least tell me why. Listen very carefully to what I'm about to say: I was sending you a quiet word as to your propensity for polls of questionable relevance. Speculation regarding the next DL success is all over the board and a poll (especially an incomplete one) will not contribute to that discussion if it's posted several different ways. With the recent influx of members, I felt it would be helpful to have some geographic perspective to apply to the posts here. You have set yourself up nicely as a target by not getting the point at all.

Paul Bearer 6,089 Posted September 10, 2005 I was born in Jamaica. Moved to the United States with my family when I was 8 years old and have spent most of my life there. Been living in Canada for the past 8 years. So when the footie's on, and Canada or the USA, are playing Jamaca, who would you be supporting then? As I live in Wales and am Scottish, I would be cheering on Scotland.

I remember watching them at the 1998 and 1992 Winter Olympics and willing them to win (I know they have competed in successive Winter Olympics, but as I have moved out of the family home and don't get to sit with my dad watching the Olympics, Summer or Winter, plus all the old westerns and black & white films any more I don't find out who wins ). I really look forward to the day Jamaica win the Gold Medal in the Bobsled, I for one will be 100% behind you.

BrunoBrimley 86 Posted September 12, 2005 And since I neglected mentioning it before I was born in the States. The United States that is. Born, raised, lived, may one day even die (here or somewhere or may not). Lived in 17 out of the 37 States and... according to this news bulletin there are now 50 states. Wonder when that happened. (And what about Garden City New York)
