South Norwood tries to hijack the name 'Lake District'.

I had to check the date at the top of this report.

Looks like Maryport has a new claim to fame. Fwee Bwian!!! Welease Woja!!

The Roman connection has been known for ages, there's a fair bit about it in Maryport's museum. But, owt that brings in them tourist pennies and sells local pies is good.

Some semi-serious piece of clickbait I followed up a few minutes back suggests Wolverhampton is the most miserable place to live in the UK.

This coming fairly tepidly on the heels of the discovery that Omagh in Northern Ireland is the happiest.

Does anyone in the habit of posting hereabouts live in either place and - if so - does s/he want to comment?

If I could add, Stoke is far worse than Wolverhampton in my memory. And don't forget Newport (South Wales) oh my God, that all needs to be cleared into the deepest depths of the North Atlantic.

So, s'cuse me reviving a moribund thread but Maryport is - apparently - one of the best places in the UK to live. Looking at the evidence I'd say locals (not that I've been one for a long time) would dispute it's a Lake District town, but the £600k difference on the same amount of property to London is for real.
