As a huge Dodger fan, I hope it's nothing serious, but I feel like it might be. Wish I had been wrong about this. But I thought the language was revealing. As Vin Scully said to cap off his only no-hitter, if you have a sombrero, throw it to the sky. RIP.
Sir Creep 7,087 Posted October 24, 2024 If you had ‘Two players from the 1981 World Series in back to back days’ you can mark your bingo card. After Fernando Valenzuela died on Tuesday, news broke on Thursday that his former World Series rival Rudy May had also passed away. The two pitchers dueled in the 1981 World Series. At the time of their deaths, Valenzuela was 63 years old and May was 80.

HDS 248 Posted December 10, 2024 On 22/01/2024 at 16:37, MrWonderful said: Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg announced on Instagram that he is beginning treatment for metastatic prostate cancer. How truly sad, both because of the prognosis of this condition and because, well, it would have been entirely preventable if he had simply gone to the doctor for yearly physicals. It can take up to 8 years, from what I gather, for prostate cancer to metastasize, so he had to go years without a physical. The average life expectancy with this condition is 21 months, and the 5-year survival rate is 28%. He's 64 and he's going to die young over something that was completely preventable. GET YOUR ANNUAL PHYSICAL, FOLKS. Ryne Sandberg announces his cancer has returned and spread.
