Sean Burroughs,  who played over 500 games between 2002 and 2012 mostly with the San Diego Padres, has died. He was 43 (despite what the URL says). Burroughs is said to have collapsed and died while coaching his son's Little League game. Sean Burroughs was the son of long-time former Major Leaguer Jeff Burroughs.

From MLB's Twitter account, a look at Art Schallock, who is apparently the oldest living former player at the age of 100.

Man could easily pass for 70 or 80. I've met much rougher-looking 70 year olds!

This leaves Bill Greason (1924) and Ron Teasley (1927) as the last living Negro League* players.

Teasley, Greason, and Mays were all going to get together for a Negro League tribute at Rickwood Field this Thursday.

That we know of. There’s plenty on Wiki in the possibly living category.

Surely baseball fans, who are a bit obsessive about obscure and old players, would have found many of them by now if they were living? Just to get more than a pair to tomorrow's game?

Luis Aparicio, 90, is now the oldest living Hall of Famer.

Many of the negro league players were obscure individuals, some only played a few games, some were Cuban and hence disappeared and were untraceable.

How many “fans” baseball has as a sport isn’t relevant. Also, still to this day 100+ AAGPBL players were never traced, despite the hype around “A League of their Own”.

A bit of clarification: Greason and Teasley are the last players from when the Negro Leagues were considered Major Leagues (1920-1948).

The Negro Leagues lasted well beyond 1948, but Greason and Teasley are the only "Major League" players left.

I put zero stock into that statement.  Note that @Ulitzer95 and I seem to agree, the world is certainly coming to an end as it has for Mays.

Baseball Hall of Famer and teammate of the late Willie Mays, Orlando Cepeda, dead at 86. Looks like he was picked in the DDP some years ago.

Not a good year for 1960’s era San Francisco Giants. Someone check on Juan Marichal’s health.

If anyone wants to draft a list of the last surviving negro league players, they can do so by navigating through this Wiki list.

I've already gone through A–D, and found 4 surviving players:

Samuel Allen (wiki, born 1936)
George Altman (wiki, born 1933)
Dennis Biddle (wiki, born 1935)
Lou Clarizio (wiki, born 1931) < not 100% sure he's still alive. He was one of only 6 white players to feature in the negro leagues.

I've excluded anyone born before 1925 or who doesn't have a DOB on their profile, as they're most likely dead.

Wait.
1) he collapsed while coaching a little league team (meaning around 10-12 years old)

2) he died of fentanyl intoxication.

Are you telling me the guy got loaded on fentanyl prior to/at his kids ballgame he was coaching?  Sir Creep is calling some major bullshit right there.
