Phantom 2,550 Posted October 29, 2006 wasnt Red Abreach on the deathlist one year? I've not heard of Red Abreach, but I believe Red Auerbach has been mentioned in the past
Paul Bearer 6,130 Posted October 29, 2006 wasnt Red Abreach on the deathlist one year? You might be thinking of Red Adair at number 34 on this list
MyBrainHurts2 4 Posted October 29, 2006 Auerbach was #23 on the 1994 Deathlist and #39 on the 1996 Deathlist. If some of you haven't heard of the old man, it's no big deal...it's not like I can name any manager from Man U or Arsenal, or any FC for that matter. I thought NBA stood for baseball, until I read the obit on BBC. Seeing how the Guardian wanks itself silly with the deaths of US sporting figures (but not UK, strangely.. ) maybe it is time for me to shake off my ignorance of all things American Sport & choose some worthy candidates... Typhoid Harry 23 Posted October 29, 2006 Sad, but not in vain; he died at the right time to remind those of us in the US to set our clocks an Auerbach last night.

Re Americans not always given a high profile over here, if Evel Knieval makes it to January 1st we've got to get him onto the 2007 top 50.
