Death Watch Beatle 41 Posted August 10, 2004 If GR is going to go and pay a visit to Richard O'Sullivan in his nursing home, perhaps I could help out the DL by calling on Johnny Mills. He lives about 10 minutes drive from me in Denham. His house backs onto a golf course, and I have seen him mowing his back lawn on a sit-on mower. (Quite a few years ago I must admit). How do you think I should bring the subject up, bearing in mind I will have about 15 seconds on his doorstep before the police are called to report a psychopath on the loose in the village. little sister 2 Posted August 10, 2004 I would have thought "Good morning/afternoon/evening Mr Mills. Honestly, how are you?" should do it. l&k sis
Stayin Alive 26 Posted August 12, 2004 DWB - At the point of confrontation with the filth, you would simply flash your laminated 2004 Deathlist membership card - inset with passport picture of you smiling and special moderators hologram - any outstanding confusion should then be explained - you were on 'official' DL business. Guest swadey Posted October 8, 2004 How on earth is he mowing the lawn, he'd been almost blind for 10 years !!! I pity their pet dogs.

Guest One Man Jury Posted November 17, 2004 I've heard that when John Mills dies he wants to be buried in Alexandrea. Then he really will be `Ice Cold in Alex'.
Larry Pestilence III 6 Posted December 16, 2004 Boom boom! Great Sunday afternoon film though. Well worth waiting for. Saw Sir John on the TV the other day. Very scary beard and looks much worse than I've seen him for some time. Larry.
Bongo Banger 0 Posted January 6, 2005 Last summer, the 96 year-old Sir John and his 92 year-old wife, Lady Mary moved into a bungalow - getting ready for the ultimate downsize, perhaps? Not much chance of falling down the stairs, though . Still, he could be be ice cold before the year's out.
Death Watch Beatle 41 Posted January 6, 2005 Is the new garden big enough for the sit-on mower? If not maybe I should pop round and make him an offer on it. I've always wanted on of those. I see it as a sign that "you've made it" in life. Not because you can afford a mower, but that you can afford the garden that needs the mower! DWB
Josco 49 Posted January 7, 2005 I too hanker for a sit down mower and the garden to use it in. However, Sir John should keep it as I understand that sit down mowers (and quad bikes) have a fantastic accident record.
Paul Bearer 6,099 Posted February 22, 2005 Happy birthday Sir John. 97 today
Guest Deathlibrarian Posted April 19, 2005 Sir John Mills Kicks Arse....he is 97 and still making movies. He was in Bright young things in 2003 (playing a guy snorting coke!) and is filming the Snow Prince now. Yah got to hand it to the guy. This guy is living film history, and still going. Banshees Scream 110 Posted April 19, 2005 I would think that Sir John Mills will prob be the next actor on this list to live untill hes 100. U can compare him to guys like George Burns who performed professionaly untill he was 98 and died at 100 and guys like Bob Hope who lived untill he was 100 and performed untill he was in his mid 90s also. Banshees Scream 110 Posted April 23, 2005 looks like he's just bought the farm. there goes the big one hundred He seemed so live and well for a 97 year old actor. I thought he seemed like a man that would go the distence. But i guess the banshee gave him a yell saying that now it was ok for him to buy that farm... Your comment made me laugh out loud when I read it and remembered! I have now re-read the thread again because of you . . . DWB
