IKYWN 6 Posted January 2, 2005 I hear Gazza, or G8 as I think he like to be known these days, has been admitted to hospital tonight with a collapsed lung and something else life-threatening. Is this the first celebrity to be knocked out in 2005, or will he make extra time?
eejit 9 Posted January 2, 2005 Luckily he only has pneumonia, as I'd doubt he'd have been on anyone's list. Former England midfielder Paul Gascoigne is in hospital suffering from pneumonia - but his agent has denied that he is seriously ill. BBC Report
Paul Bearer 6,100 Posted January 2, 2005 A newspaper report suggested the ex-Tottenham and Newcastle star was "gravely ill" and was also being treated for a possible collapsed lung. But his agent Alex Armitage has told BBC Five Live this is not the case. Did'nt Jonny Ramone's agent say the same thing ( or similar thing)?
eejit 9 Posted January 2, 2005 Are you saying he's about to go from G8 to L8?
football_fan 42 Posted January 2, 2005 It looks like it is just a case of pneumonia. He is only 37 and I have not seen any reports of him having any previous health problems, so there is a good chance he will bounce back.

faustus 9 Posted January 3, 2005 There are unconfirmed reports that G8/Gazza could probably suffer from Terets Syndrome ( i think thats how its spelt ), does anybody have any info on this ?....
Stayin Alive 26 Posted January 3, 2005 Not something I should admit to, but errr, did anyone else see Gazza on Strictly Come Ice Skating? I was looking for his gurney and just couldn't see it - he looked life threateningly terrible on that show. Are we sure nothing else is up with him?
Anubis the Jackal 77 Posted January 4, 2005 A collapsed lung isn't that life-threatening, had one myself and all it takes is a whacking great needle into the lung cavity... (slumps onto desk)
honez 79 Posted January 4, 2005 all it takes is a whacking great needle into the lung cavity ...what to get one or cure one? Yeuch!!
Anubis the Jackal 77 Posted January 4, 2005 That was the cure, the cause was, ahem... 'overdoing' it apparently.
Stayin Alive 26 Posted January 5, 2005 Here's a fantastic quote from Gaz's agent: "His agent Alex Armitage admitted when he went into hospital that there could be 'a hundred and one things wrong with him'. But he said yesterday: "He's only suffering from pneumonia and not the countless (101) other things being rumoured." He has got a point though, I mean, 101 things looks to be about right from the photo in the Mail (DWB ) Incredible to think he is actually only 37. Half-time... The Yeti 14 Posted January 6, 2005 Surely its 102 things : pneumonia plus 101 others ?

maryportfuncity 10,639 Posted January 10, 2005 Gazza is loud and angry about the fact that one paper suggested he might have AIDS. Denies it outright. However, his immune system has obviously taken some abuse. Maybe his liver is struggling after years of abuse.
ixion 1 Posted January 19, 2005 Ive heard chris evans has moved gazza in as he has no home but apparently is off the booze. I think he must of heard of the deathlists concern " final whistle approaching " and wants to lend a hand. Its party time now (topics merged. ATJ)
