Edge of Darkness. The series not the film (barf). you can get it on a site called Daily Motion or something like that with a brief search. Unmissable even 35 years on. But you've presumably seen it. I can't imagine anyone liking chernobyl and not liking it but  you never know.

I finally got around to watching Edge Of Darkness.  I'd bought the DVD on Ebay for a couple of quid and it's been resting in a drawer for months.

Excellent stuff, and despite being nearly 40 years old, surprisingly topical.

Never mind Bond, Jedburgh is the reason I'd die on the "Joe Don Baker's DLy" hill.

"He died, peacefully in his sleep, of bullet wounds."

It's just excellent TV and has aged considerably well imo.

"Get me Pendleton!"

Best BBC drama serial ever IMHO.

"He's rumoured to be the state executioner"

"What's he doing up here?"

"It could be you old boy, the minister didn't take 'too' kindly to that speech of yours"

"If this turns out to have an Irish connection, I shall retire"

I could quote from it all day and all night too, but better not eh?

There are plot holes and a couple of factual errors (plutonium bullets, cough) if you watch it a few times and look closely enough but rarely has anything ever been done better. And no matter your thoughts on EC one way or the other, the soundtrack is epic.

I watched that years ago on a recommendation from here (search reveals it was 15 years ago, recommendation from @themaninblack). Agreed, excellent,  and still no desire (despite it being on streaming for yonks) to see the Mel Gibson version.

I had just finished my binge of series 1 of "Upstart Crow" (2016) on my library streaming service Kanopy when I learned about "Ludwig" (2024), so I binge that online.
