Louise Beavers, another black actress from the same era as Hattie McDaniel, and who of course was cubby-holed into the roles of 'maid' 'slave' or 'servant', died this day as well 55 years ago (60).  Interestingly, Beavers was one of three actresses (including Hattie McDaniel and Ethel Watters) to portray housekeeper Beulah on the Beulah television show. That show was the first television sitcom to star a black person.

Pretty cool coincidence here in the Anniversary thread.

Film editor Margaret Booth was the longest-lived person to have received an Oscar (died this day 15 years ago (104)) , a record she held for 12 years until pesky little Luise Rainer (died at 105) came around.
Born in the 1800s, died in the 2000s, not a lot of folks got to say that.
