Anubis the Jackal 77 Posted October 18, 2004 Gah!, just as I put the same link in the candidates list... Anyway, apparently the police found skid-marks on his helmet.

Dazza 0 Posted October 18, 2004 Supped his last pint! (Helps if heard the story many years ago about him getting hiis stomach pumped and the contents thereof)
VSBfromH 74 Posted October 18, 2004 That would be this "story": Yuk!
Anubis the Jackal 77 Posted October 18, 2004 A fine story, and one that has survived down the ages. My dad first heard it about Johnnie Ray, i heard it about 'That Bloke from Tight Fit' whereas for my younger brother it was Morrissey. A US source says it was Rod Stewart and now it's probably Will Young but I don't hang around school playgrounds enough to confirm that.

Guest Shuffler Posted October 18, 2004 Apparently he was warned to make sure his helmet fitted properly, but misunderstood...
IKYWN 6 Posted October 18, 2004 I'm definitely betting on Mr Almond becoming wormfood, though it does seem to be another case of attempted queue-jumping by a fading celebrity
Grim Reaper 186 Posted October 18, 2004 In a "critical condition" huh? That's gotta be Almond's first critical success for quite some time...
Stayin Alive 26 Posted October 18, 2004 He is a proving a tough nut to crack, that Almond. Updates suggesting that he is no longer critical. So for me, a bit more of a Hard Sell on this one.

Death Watch Beatle 41 Posted October 28, 2004 The radio news says he is now out of intensive care. On the punditry side of things, I am very surprised nobody did the 'Almond Pasted' gag. Oh, I just have! DWB

VSBfromH 74 Posted February 4, 2005 "I realise how things can come to an end without being able to prepare, so I want to live my life as fully as possible while I'm able" ... I think we'd all better watch our backs! Good to have you back, Marc! Best wishes

Pop along and see him then. http://www.marcalmond.co.uk/live/index.html Hmm bijou venues or a toehold on a bigger bill driven by nostalgia. Has it really come to the point that his career and that of T'Pau amount to almost the same thing?

Has it really come to the point that his career and that of T'Pau amount to almost the same thing? Bijou venues like the Royal Festival Hall? Marc has appeared at one or two of the Rewind festivals every year since they began, I think. This year he has said he won't be doing any more though, and will just be doing his own tours in future. Just by observation btw, I would say that Marc is very much more popular at Rewind than Carol Decker.

Then again, she's a trouper and summat of a born performer non of this fey "I'll do my own tours" stuff for our Carol if a big festival crowd is still there to be entertained. She'll go on like Vera Lynn.
