I'm surprised that his death has not had more publicity actually

I'd always assumed that Mervyn Pinfield got the "autocue invention" award with the Piniprompter of the 40s/50s. Similar time frame, and a damn site easier than idiot-boards!

Seventieth birthday celebrations for Stephen Hawling in January (same month Muhammad Ali is seventy) include a large scale conference in Cambridge where the man himself will present. He's also guest editing the Today program on Radio Four over Christmas. Probably won't include the following joke:

What's the opposite of Stephen Hawking?

Stephen walking

His funeral should be fun. I wonder how many gravestones his coffin will hit before he gets in the hole? :D

If I gave you a quarter to four scenario which involved your favorite beverage appearing on your desk in a snap which one would it be, time? Dr. Pepper, Sprite, Iced latte with extra splenda .. not for me.

Creators seem to be a prime category which is producing at a consistent rate but it seems the mind behind the product isn't actually famous until he is dead and won't be until then. It would be a bright idea for a theme team if one could be comprised in the future.

I'm not familiar with the term "a quarter to four scenario", but of the beverages listed I'd choose none of the above. if its an open choice, then, depending on what I was doing at the time, a black coffee, no sugar, a pint of decent real ale, or (worst case scenario) a Coke Zero.
