Sir Creep 7,070 Posted November 11, 2015 A Michelin-starred chef has died at the age of 32, just two days before his restaurant was named as one of the best in the UK. Jonray Sanchez-Iglesias, who ran Casamia in Bristol with his brother Peter, died on Friday following a four-year battle with skin cancer. Days later, the much-lauded restaurant was named by the Sunday Times as the fourth best in the country. Excuse me waiter---there's some skin cancer in my soup. I am French Canadian so I don't have a clue. However... I know that Star Trek wasn't a big thing in France and that originally, no major French TV channels acquired the rights for the show. Also a fun fact... Star Trek was never dubbed in France French. In fact, the only French dubbing of Star Trek was done in Quebec French. Therefore, when Star Trek started airing in France in the early 80s, it was dubbed in Quebec French which is quite unusual.. usually it's the opposite.

From what I read on another board recently, the French liked Space: 1999 more for its philosophical aspects and X-FIles for its supernatural side. They apparently also like fantasy like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings more than "pure sf" like Trek. That being the case, I don't know why they didn't like Dr Who then unless it was simply too British for 'em.
