It's a real shame that anyone would find that "creepy". There's nothing wrong with paying someone a compliment, whatever their age. I'm saying how it would look to today's viewers. Middle aged married cop makes suggestive statement to possible witness/suspect during his line of work - could you get away with writing that sort of stuff today without it leading to some sort of disgrace/shame/witchunt/newspaper outrage, given the apparent age of the girl? The episode is fairly mediocre about a martial arts tournament that a friend of Garibaldi wants to enter but alongisde that there is the aftermath of the death of Ivanova's father and a rabbi (Bikel) comes from Earth to visit her. The use of CGI allowed B5 to create space battles on a limited budget whereas on DS9 about the same era they relied on model work so space battles tended to be someone looking at a monitor and describing what is happening.
