Tweet reporting the death of Dr. Audrey Evans (wiki), aged 97.

Yorkshire-born American oncologist who founded Ronald McDonald House Charities in Philadelphia, in 1974.

Even if the name is not familiar, everyone will recognise the logo (unless you've literally never been inside a McDonald's!). Their charity boxes are on the counters inside and below the service windows at the "drive-thru".

John Pappajohn, an impactful Iowa business leader and philanthropist, has died. He was 94.

Pappajohn, along with his wife, Mary, were well known for their namesake — the John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park in Des Moines. She died in March of 2022.

The Des Moines couple gifted more than $100 million to colleges and medical institutions.
