YoungWillz 21,058 Posted November 29, 2020 Well, David Prowse was a unique hit for Perhaps here, giving his chances A New Hope. This was the card you were looking for (Jedi mind trick)! Bonuses: Straight (6, 7 Spades, 8, 9, 10 Clubs) - 30 Points Straight (6, 7 Spades, 8, 9, 10 Spades) - 30 Points Straight (6, 7 Hearts, 8, 9, 10 Clubs) - 30 Points Straight (6, 7 Hearts, 8, 9, 10 Spades) - 30 Points Total - 120 Additional Points. So, it's no Ewok in the park as the race tightens at the top, with Perhaps moving into second place and tiny points of separation, which could even change those positions at the Card Roulette Table tomorrow. As for my team, help me Obi-Wan... Leaderboard updated.
YoungWillz 21,058 Posted November 30, 2020 We kick off St Andrews Day with an early visit to the Card Roulette Table. The leaderboard above will be updated shortly. THIS IS ALSO A FINAL REMINDER. If you have played a Joker, you have until 23:59 GMT today to let me know. If you need help, PM me, but do not leave it to the last minute as some of these need a bit of working out. YoungWillz 21,058 Posted November 30, 2020 Still nothing in it really, but with Death Impends drawing a low card moves down into third, Perhaps moves into first position and Sean into second. December massacre? Anyway, leaderboard updated and we are all set for the last month of this competition.

I'll update the leaderboard with your choice, with 5 Points added for a High Card.
YoungWillz 21,058 Posted December 2, 2020 GisCARD D'Estaing dies. Crikey, in a game of cards, the clue was in his name all along! Only Death By Arsenic and Miracle Aligner picked him. No bonuses, leaderboard updated.

YoungWillz 21,058 Posted December 11, 2020 Barbara Windsor has stopped Carrying On. Devastating news for some, hits (I said HITS) for others. Hits for YoungWillz; Great Uncle Bulgaria; theoldlady; Joe Moneypenny; Sean and The Old Crem. Bonus: Sean draws an A Diamonds - 5 Additional Points. And with that, Sean catapults his bra into first place with time running out on the compeTITion. (Ok, I couldn't resist!).
YoungWillz 21,058 Posted December 15, 2020 Running my finger down the list, it seems with little to no fanfare and certainly no Qobit, Amala Shankar (a sub for Captain Chorizo) died on 24 July. Do check your lists for those more *ahem" unique picks. If they've died and I don't know about it, I can't award points, can I?
Perhaps 1,423 Posted December 16, 2020 msc had Bhanwarlal Meghwal who died last month and didn't obit as far as I can see.
YoungWillz 21,058 Posted December 16, 2020 6 hours ago, Perhaps said: msc had Bhanwarlal Meghwal who died last month and didn't obit as far as I can see. Thanks! I can't see one either. And with three non-Qobiting team members, in contention for the toilet portrait Hall of Shame this year! I haven't decided though as there's the small matter of no hits on two teams at all, just subs. Just over a fortnight to go mind.
gcreptile 10,978 Posted December 16, 2020 I have two non-obits in the main team, plus one sub... ...but then I think that in such a more time-limited pool, it's better to increase your numbers, and hope that something sticks.

Fair dos, but this casino has a way of punishing that, ha! Totally arbitrary and dare I say random decision of the manager later. First couple of years it was getting your hits in the subs area rather than the main team, last year it was 5 non-Qobiting main team members. This year, not so clear cut. Not that the Hall of Shame is of any consequence mind in the great scheme of things! I will say it's a DDP microcosm, you can have all the guaranteed deaths you like but they have to be picked up first by the runner and second obtain the QO. Here it's much more risky, because the "might Qobit, might not" pick might be the pick that's holding the card you need to make the hands for the big bonuses, and that might cost you the title. Acht, it's only a game so....
YoungWillz 21,058 Posted December 29, 2020 Unlike Pierre Cardin, there's life in this game yet! Those who predicted a designer shroud were theoldlady and Death By Arsenic. Bonuses: Death By Arsenic hits A Clubs - 5 Additional Points. Also makes a pair of As - 10 Additional Points - Total - 15 Additional Points. (Probably cursing not converting that Joker). JoeMoneypenny had Cardin as a sub and draws Q Diamonds for 12 Points added. Leaderboard updated. If I have missed any deaths/obits, let me know. Last year was a runaway win, at this rate it will be the Card Roulette table award which might finish it!
Toast 16,144 Posted December 29, 2020 I still think this enjoyable pool deserves to run for a full year.
