Why not have both and also have the brothers Ron and Ernie Isley. In fact why not have the Isley Brothers at number 49 and then not have the issue with thinking that we need to use the Clive Dunn memorial number 50 on the list.

Joan Fontaine George H.W. Bush Jimmy Carter Luise Rainer Chuck Yeager Christopher Lee Don Pardo Doris Day Pete Seeger Mikhail Kalashnikov Ray Harryhausen John Paul Stevens Carol Channing Prince Philip In my opinion, DL names should be people who 1) Have a strong chance of dying this year and 2) Are famous enough to be known to the majority of the forum. I think some picks (Lom, Martin) were chosen just because they'd get an obit and they were very old, and as such when they died no obit was written because no one really knew who they were. I do agree with Cecil/Winner/James though.

The smart ones among us will start slowly leaking the names of people whose cancers are in remission over the next few months, except linking to the news article about their original diagnosis. This is known in DDP terms as the "Lee Evans Gambit".

Not Henry Cecil? Not Henry Cecil? Be a toss-up between Cecil, Winner and Clive James I'd say, assuming they're all still with us come January 1st... Yeah, that's three of the top 10 right there, maybe even the top five. Winner just "seems" like the perfect DL pick. Terminally ill, a cunt and he's going to do his dying in public.

Shucks guys. Thanks. However I felt like the one left behind today. Champaign and canapés in the office today at 11am. "You've all doing very well" My own fault. As a rule I don't drink before noon so I passed on that and got a bit more work done.

I see the recently-departed (and already mentioned, yes I fucking know, before some twat points it out) John Clive was added to that site just four days before Dicky O. I remember him best as the camp tourist who had his would-be boyfriend nicked by Sally Geeson in Carry On Abroad... which probably says more about my film tastes than I ought to admit, considering he was also in The Italian Job, A Clockwork Orange and Yellow Submarine.
