Timothy West is a big name to me, being of the RSC (he's also 80, overweight, and has a highly stressful life, complete with ill wife) but then a lot of the young names that show up in the music threads I've never heard of. So swings, roundabouts, etc.

Yes you do. You forgot the obligatory "er, not that I watch that rubbish, I just.... saw that somewhere"

Simon. Of the current candidates he looks the worse. Not that that makes much of a difference, after all so does Zsa Zsa. regards, Hein

Not a fan? Doesn't bother me either way. I was shaking my head at his trolling of the Deathlist selection process.

All the fawning and praise over Gough's legacy and his "service to the country" has already begun. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-10-21/gough-whitlam-dead/5828840

Just in case anyone doesn't know the first song (and, primarily, because you can never ever have too much of Debbie Harry ): I thought the Tide is High was by Atomic Kitten........ Grrrrr...

Yeah, fairy nuff. Sorry, it's just one of the quirks, or whatever, of having a board that has people of different age groups on it. Even though I know tons of older "famous people" I'm gonna get irritated sometimes cos the guy's not exactly Muhammad Ali is he. "That shit's just gonna happen", as they used to say a lot at the BBC in the 70s and 80s. And 50s and 60s and 90s and 2000s. And 2010s. You're not going to know everyone that gets mentioned in the forums. half the time I see a name and don't recognise who it is until I google them and then I know who they are. I know that I wasn't seriously trying to knock BG for mentioning him, I was just mostly ribbing him as I like to do, he knows that.

Fascinating....... but could you try limiting these birthday posts to people we don't have to put into Google Image Search to remind ourselves who they are? Apparently he is currently appearing in Eastenders.. Not that I watch that crap I just heard.

Yes you do. You forgot the obligatory "er, not that I watch that rubbish, I just.... saw that somewhere" Guilty pleasure...... Admitedly from a DL point of view it has become less watchable.... Is Bruce going to make it through the whole show?

So who are the front runners? In the unlikely event that Sam Simon makes the start line I'd say he's a nailed on joker, other than that some front runners are old but - surely - dependable (Billy Graham), whilst some younger ones haven't got proven obit-worthy status, or are hard to call (like Wilko Johnson - who seemed a shoo in this year). So, proper dead pooling, then. Joost will be a popular one as well as Simon. I think Caroline Aherne and Ali Carter might be popular "punt" jokers too. There will be swings to Jimmy Hill, Rob Ford and Jules Bianchi (foolishly) too, I bet.

She will be missed - she was such an optimistic person... However.... bugger - I had her down (like many others I would expect) for 2015.

So, it throws us back on some skilful picking of jokers for our respective dead pool teams, then.

Saw the Frank Warren quotes the other day.He may have some inside knowledge from those close to Ali, but it is unlikely he will know the severity of his illness only Ali's close family and doctors will know that. I don't think he has at death's door yet as other members of his family have denied the quotes from his Brother, Ali is obviously declining as you can tell from recent photo's he is loosing weight fast and he looks ill. I think his close family are not telling the public the full extent of his decline as it is obvious to everyone he is not fine like they say. I still personally think he will see out the year, i think he probably has months left to live, i will be surprised if he is still alive for his 75th Birthday in just over 2 years time. Yeah, totally agree. His brother has attention grabbing form in this area. Hope the final days don't degenerate into the same unseamly land grab we saw with Nelson Mandela's nearest and dearest.

Aha, the outside enemy diversionary tactic. It sometimes works, but students of political history know that it often bites back. regards, Hein

The costume may have been tight-fitting, but her tits weren't that big. Not too bad for what I believe is nowadays called a MILF. Technically she wouldn't have been a MILF in 1980/81 as it was a couple more years before she had children. I'd agree she was reasonably attractive A better hairdo would have lifted her in the stakes though but, hey, it was the 1980s and this is Blake's 7 we are talking about. Avon had a similar perm by this stage. What do you mean "better hairdo"? That's my current hairstyle, you cheeky sod.

He is on stage tomorrow night at the Royal Festival Hall. Where I hope someone will present him with the Worst Deathlist pick 2014 award. And there has been some stiff competition.....
