Slackhurst Broadcasting 374 Posted July 12, 2023 I wouldn't mind escaping Britain for France myself, but Milan Kundera's best-known books were those he wrote in Czech and which dealt with events there. It's natural he should be thought of as a Czech writer.
Youth in Asia 1,085 Posted July 12, 2023 3 hours ago, La Tombe said: Milan Kundera was French of nationality, spoke French and wrote French. Like Picasso was a French painter. So many artists came and continue to come to France but these artist are described by their origin of nationality and not as French artist while it’s France gave them their popularity and not their original country. It’s the same for writers, painters, actors, singer for many countries. I don’t understand why resume people by their original nationality while the country they immmigrate in gave them everything and more than their original countries ! Should we call Gerard Depardieu Russian?

Drewsky1211 4,726 Posted July 12, 2023 "He was selected at number 26 on this year’s list, being his second appearance." ... 23. Milan Kundera Edit: Thank you, whoever fixed the typo.
