Also spotted David Pleat (b. 1945) in the crowd who looks the same as ever. Pleat looks very frail here, older than his 78 years. I can't upload the photo for some reason, so here's the link https://m.facebook.com/100064934911901/

msc 18,439 Posted March 5, 2023 Didn't recognise him at all - blimey. Also, that was a fucking ordeal getting that photo to go on the forum. Facebook, DL and my phone having a huge falling out - then the sodding laptop wanted to do a fucking update and crashed.

He didn't appear to go on the pitch for applause, but John Still (next to Pleat in this picture) did.
Octopus of Odstock 2,192 Posted March 7, 2023 The great man has his own thread thanks to the admins. For context, he looked better a few weeks prior talking about his old friend John Motson https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=644830447650130&id=100063695407274 Looks older than his years but not as dreadful as in that picture. Bad photo or sudden illness?
harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy 1,689 Posted March 7, 2023 Epitaph: kerb crawler who celebrated relegation avoidance by jumping around on the pitch in beige shoes. Mine would be: was nothing, did nothing. 1
Spade_Cooley 9,515 Posted March 7, 2023 Pleat's Wikipedia entry is written by a friend of his, and as a result contains the phrase: Quote Pleat's employment as manager of Tottenham came to an end in October 1987 when he resigned after unsubstantiated newspaper claims about his private life. Spade_Cooley 9,515 Posted March 7, 2023 For comparison, here's a picture of Pleat from December 2021, standing behind universal beloved comic Michael McIntyre:
Deathrace 1,170 Posted May 16, 2023 Here's the man himself at tonight's play off semi final match. He looks marginally less frail than in these other recent photos.

Looks like we can kick him to the kerb. Which is just how he likes it. 1

Deathrace 1,170 Posted January 15 Pleat is pictured here at yesterday's game at the top of Jim Ratcliffe's head. He appears slightly better than the photos from March 2023. I also doubt he lives that near to Manchester so clearly he is well enough to travel fairly long distances to games. Hopefully he has a few years left.
