A-Ha's going to win this by default because it's just being ignored!

I can live with that result

Well, we have a winner.

It took on every other UK #2 of the '80s, came for our love (and got it), and wasn't gone in the 34 days since its first vote.

GG everyone!

Oof, sorry about the wait. Bloody life getting in the way of a good ole KoS.

A-Ha’s song, is the best number TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…of the 1980s, according to a discerning bunch of internet deadpoolers who probably could’ve guessed that’d be the result right from the off. That final three was mighty, mighty close, and let’s face it pretty much all of our final 25 was mighty impressive.

This is how it all stacked up in the end…

GRAND FINAL

1st: A-Ha — Take On Me

2nd: Tears For Fears — Everybody Wants To Rule The World

3rd: Eurythmics — Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)

4th: The Bangles — Manic Monday

5th: Pet Shop Boys & Dusty Springfield — What Have I Done To Deserve This

6th: Prince — 1999 / Little Red Corvette

7th: Queen — Radio Ga Ga

8th: Duran Duran — Save A Prayer

9th: INXS — Need You Tonight

10th: Alice Cooper — Poison

11th: Ultravox — Vienna

12th: Kim Wilde — Kids In America

13th: Phil Collins — In The Air Tonight

14th: Duran Duran — A View To A Kill

15th: Erasure — Sometimes

16th: The Stranglers — Golden Brown

17th: Diana Ross — Upside Down

18th: Kim Wilde — You Keep Me Hanging On

19th: David Bowie — Modern Love

20th: Eddy Grant — Electric Avenue

21st: Lipps Inc — Funky Town

22nd: Salt-N-Pepa — Push It / Tramp

23rd: Simply Red — Holding Back The Years

 24th: Technotronic ft. Felly — Pump Up The Jam

25th: Terence Trent D’arby — Sign Your Name

It’s clear that this is an anger management therapy exercise from our ferocious friend theoldlady, with her racking up well over double the kills of her closest competitor Paul Bearer. And thank goodness too; these games would probably last a couple of years without her :D She largely has the good work of Toast to thank for that, who tops the assists scoreboard.

So, as Morten Harket cries with unbridled joy as his band is honoured with this prestigious accolade, let’s play this shiz out with him singing an acoustic version of the song dressed as a big twat:

Right, ceremony over, get over yourselves. We’ve got another decade to see to…
