I'm pleased to see Miss Amanda is now in the club. And its all thanks to Mr. Josco and his little man. :)

Let it be said that Sir Josco and his little helper are good for something after all. :(

Sir Josco! Wow, in the the same exalted company as little Billy Gates. My little man is enjoying a midlife expergefaction. If Amanda has sufficient (but not too much) champagne we may even deosculate.

Dear Sir Josco,

Expergefaction

Desculate

Are these made up words? I actually consulted my Oxford Compact Dictionary and they are not listed!

Amanda

Expergefaction an awakening, coming alive.

Deosculate; I'll let you look this one up.

Some more:

Grammatolatory would describe a little of my interests, but I unfortunately suffer from lethologica

My grandfather would pick a new word from the dictionary each day and attempt to interject it into conversation several times during that day. I understand that it made for some interesting exchanges. (I never met him as he passed on before I arrived)

Ah ha. Well they're not in my dictionary! What fab words though! And you answered my next question and to how you know these words.

What is the study of words called - Lexio-something? Or letho-something? Or what?

I thought the study of words was etymology.......

As a Gentleman, I was simply trying to avoid any duplication of avatars. What else could I mean?

I think I speak for most of us when I say that we don't want to know. :(

As for the little man, I think he has an appointment with the rabbi. :)rabbi.jpg

Are we on about the choking bit, or the in hand bit or what?

Bloody Central Networks are digging up outside my house today. They're still at it now, but fortunately I have power. It's bloody annoying though because this house is pretty old, so the 1st floor is quite low and when they're frollicking about on their digger things they are just about level with me, should I be in bed. And I like to sleep with my curtains open because natural light wakes me up better than alarms etc. When I asked them how long they were planning on being there and making such a noise and a mess etc, they said "How long is a piece of string"! Grrr, I hate it when people say that. You'd think, seeing as they are clearly specialists in the field of electric stuff that they might have a clue what they're doing and therefore give me an approx. amount of time it might take. Or a time bracket - e.g. 1-2 hours, 3-6 hours, 1-2 weeks etc. They replied "between 1 hour - 1 day". I think that's unacceptable! When I asked what the problem was, they didn't even know. And I when I said that I hoped for all our sakes it wouldn't be a long night, one of them said he didn't mean because he was on triple time!! That's no incentive to get the job done is it?!

But saying that, if it was summer and they were doing the electrics with shorts and fluorescent vests then I wouldn't mind so much because they're all under the age of 30.

Amanda,

Do you speak with an accent of any description? It's just that I'd like to get some authenticity in my own mind when reading your posts. We all know that Mr/Sir/Lord Josco comes from Yorkshire, Honez is a Welshman in Oz and HCW is a Welshman in Wales so I can read their contributions in what I like to think is a complementary accent but you are an enigma thus far.

Thanks

Honez is a Welshman in Oz

With an Australian accent (which used to be a North Wales accent -- not like one of those "there you goa, there's loveleee, iznet?" South Wales ponces.)

HCW is a Welshman in Wales

And I think you'll find HCW is a a little too Scottish-sounding to be a Welshman.

I must ask, do people write in accents?

Can you see mine? :flame:

Hello & Good Afternoon!

Although am Welsh and lived there for my first 14 years, I didn't pick up the accent. Both of my parents are pretty well spoken, so I have been told that I speak with no accent, but with a hint of Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and the like. Also, my Mother who is exceptionally well spoken, made sure that she corrected me on every word that came out of my mouth so that I sounded like her. But I try to play my accent down depending on who I am with because I don't like it when people take the p*ss.

But I would like to have a Spanish accent and look like Penelope Cruz.

Although I hail from Yorkshire, I do not really speak with the accent as my father spent a not inconsiderable sum of money on my education, where any trace of accent was beaten out. I repaid him by getting expelled with no qualifications* what so ever. He lived in Switzerland before I was born, but was keen that I should be born in Yorkshire in case I showed any sporting prowess. I disappointed him there too.

However, if it helps any of the Horsemen:

"Eh bah gum, it's reit parky out, tha'knows, put wood in't 'ole"**

**Oh I say, it is a little chilly outside, would you please close the door.

*Please ignore my CV on my website, it's a little exaggerated.

I didn't think you had a Yorkshire accent!

I imagine Mr Josco to look a lot like Donald Trump and sound like Prince Charles.

I imagine Inar to look like Orlando Bloom and speak like Enrique Eglasias (or however you spell it).

I am dismayed, insulted and flabberghasted. In fact (to quote P.G.Woodhouse), never has my flabber been so ghasted. I think I'm going to fulminate, spontaneously.

I, I, ..... er...I........ I am lost for words!!!
