All deathlisters here that are from the London region, please make yourself known so we can know that you're ok.

Well, I'm still here.

Thanks for your concern.

DWB

I know what it's like to live under terrorism so it comes natural to me.

So they didn't get you. *marks one off list* :)

They closed the local station & shopping mall, causing chaos in the streets for a time - and this is about 10 miles from central London.

But they didn't get me.

This afternoon, I had to teach a very worried 10 year old girl who didn't know where her father was. The school had decided not to tell the young children about what had happened, but she knew because she had been out on a trip to the library.

The only realistic thing to do was carry on, regardless.

Later, I went to teach an older child at home whose mother is a police inspector. While I was there, the call came through to ask her to help out with Family Liaison.

That sounds like one of the toughest jobs I can think of, in these circumstances.

I'm closer to Gleneagles so the biggest threat to me is anarchists and President Bush on his bike.

I'm fine IYG, thank you. Mini-Boudicca is under the care of a London hospital. We are very glad that we postponed a routine appointment until after the G8.

Thankfully terrorists with a global agenda have ignored Maryport, the jewel of the Solway coast. We've suffered enough with unemployment, inbreeding and relentlessly crap weather so it isn't all good news.

Does anyone know if Michael Foot, Patrick Moore and/or Claire Raynor had pressing appointments in central London this morning?

Where i am in Scotland is toooooooo small to be terrorized.

The worst we had today was the phone box window getting smashed.

London-based, but fortunately away on hols in the wild west at the time. I was determined not to listen to any news on the radio, so it wasn't until I started to get large amounts of text messages from friends and family saying they were OK that I twigged something was up.

Having heard 2 bombs go off fairly close by before, one the work of the IRA, the other some Halibut extremists blowing up an Israeli diplomatic residence, I doubt if i'll be giving it much thought in a week or two.

Where to?

Brighton? Birmingham? Warrington? Deal?

It seems to me you're doing fine. You're staying away far enough from exploding bombs to avoid damage.

There's another way of looking at it: bombs tend to go off near you. If that is indeed the case, I'd recommend moving close, but not next door to someone on the list. e.g. Maradona.

regards,

Hein

Smart idea. Haven't had too many near misses in the last few years though. Losing my touch perhaps?

Thats got me thinking...

Did you plant the bombs and blame it on the IRA !!?

Apparently it's all the fault of British terrorists now - probably the only ones who can understand the tube anyway.....

And I was very glad I stopped commuting to Kings Cross in April and found a safe job in a quiet corner of Hertfordshire............

I did, in fact, laugh out loud.

I personally think that most of the rioting was done by english football fans wanting to smash something.

Official figures show that most of the anarchists at G8 were english (100ish) followed by Scotland (50ish).
