32. Norman Tebbit

Lord Tebbit was always a must-read in the Telegraph during the Cameron years when the rest of mainstream media were covering for him. Probably my favourite former cabinet minister left alive now that Lord Lawson has gone.

Re that Brighton documentary, they spared us the footage of a badly injured Norm being pulled through a hole in the wreckage wearing his pyjamas.

I saw him while walking around Bury St. Edmunds today. Nothing much to report, really, except that he was making use of a motorised wheelchair, but that may just be due to his age. Not that he's much in contention for it, but I wouldn't advise dropping him next year.

Cheers for the update.

Last time I saw him was in 2021/2, not too long before he retired from the House of Lords.

He looked like Skeletor then, but he was still walking (albeit with a stick). Didn't think he'd last this long. If he's still out and about then there's a good chance he'll see 94 in March. However, I wouldn't support dropping him from the list.

@Summer in Transylvania when I saw you had posted you really had my hopes up for a moment there.

I thought he'd go soon after his wife Margaret given they were clearly a very devoted couple but he's outlived her by nearly four years so far. Carteresque.

People surprise you. My Grandfather was frail as hell albeit no where near as bas as carter but extremely physically unwell and frail to the extreme but when my Nan died from alzheimers he was more relieved than devastated although he was heartbroken. He lived for her but when she died he chanelled that energy Into to his other family .He lasted 21 months.

Some footage of him at a remembrance ceremony on Nov. 10 (possibly the same event Summer in Transylvania referenced).

I'm assuming @dimreaper that Tebbit is the one in the wheelchair/scooter? If so he his definitely a must to keep on the 2025 list as he looks awful and looks like it's a miracle he his still alive.

Here's a picture that shows him more clearly. He's sat with Peter Prinsley, the current (Labour) MP for Bury St. Edmunds and Stowmarket.
