BrunoBrimley 86 Posted June 14, 2005 Poet & comedian Hovis Presley has died. Never heard of him but after reading this I wish I had.... Tribute To Hovis A comic died, he died he died And when he did I cried I cried A moose or raven, neither one He sampled life (he may have run) A loss so great a loss so hard A moment here they've closed his card A poet with a comic net and now his maker he has met. No more linens goats or grog he's stiffened now just as a log. A comic gone a poet too so ends a life like morning dew. A comic died he died he died and oh tis sad I sighed I sighed yes it is sad that he has died. Rest peacefully Hovis.

BrunoBrimley 86 Posted June 15, 2005 I don't understand - did Hovis write the poem? And if so, who was it about? Was he writing his own elegy? No, I am sad to say he never had the chance to write his final thoughts. I chose to write it as a way to express a simple remembrance of him and presented it for all to enjoy and to use as they think on the meaning of life.
