Tempus Fugit 214 Posted December 9, 2005 Could a mod please remind us newcomers when the site went online for the first time. It strikes me that - given the rapid Internet expansion - we'll hit 2,000,000 posts in something around a third of the time it took to hit a million. Does anyone with a role in managing the site want to guess when the double million will come up? The site went online in late 1996 - but I have just realised the counter is badly flawed as it only records hits on the home page. The full site (including the forum) itself gets about 300,000 page views each month from about 40,000 unique visitors. 2005 so far for - 3.5 million page views from 481,000 unique visitors Those are impressive figures, it's good to know that DeathList is even more popular than the Site Meter indicates. I wonder how the numbers compare to the Royal Forums, perhaps Elspeth can enlighten us.

Believe it or not internet forums were unheard of in those days and winding up those old modems to upload pages wasn't a lot of fun either Reasonably priced webhosting wasn't invented that long ago either

This is the Royal Forums tracker thingy; I'm not sure if it's got the data you're looking for, but there do seem to be numbers of unique visitors and so on; it's just that I don't seen anything where the numbers have been tracked since the site opened. http://extremetracking.com/open?login=royalfor

But as IP addresses can't be matched to users there's no harm I suppose. You average about 9000 unique visitors a day excluding reloads. Almost a third of your visitors are from the USA. You really do get visitors from all over the world, who would have thought royalty was so popular.
Paul Bearer 6,102 Posted December 11, 2005 Tempus is on the verge of becoming the leading poster on this forum. He trails Heaven Can Wait by a single post. Come on Tempus, you know you can do it! Been up in Scotland all weekend with no access to a computer. That's my excuse.
Cowboy Ronnie 78 Posted December 12, 2005 I know that when Bill Clinton came to office in 1992, actually, although elected in November 1992, Billy Pantsdown only became President in January 1993.
football_fan 42 Posted December 2, 2006 We broke our record for most people online in DL forums today. The new record is 421. I am not sure what the reason is, but I still welcome it. Edit: There are at least 200 viewing the "Fat and Fearless Thread" I guess it has to do with the death of Rosalie Bradford

We don't rate on Google when it comes to Rosalie, so very odd. A Google search on Rosalie Bradfords dies maybe? Strangely enough no ranters. Yet. regards, Hein
maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted December 2, 2006 If Ms Bradford's death produced no ranter fire we might usefully assume some of the drive by traffic share our grim humour. Mebbe a few new members coming before Christmas eh?

EDIT: Assuming that by "posts" MPFC meant "hits."
maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted March 7, 2007 Did indeed mean hits. As a matter of interest, how many posts have their been in total?
