Guest Guest Posted August 3, 2007 I say let him go. What harm can the old man do. Who really cares what he has done in the past, hes a dying man, and he should be with his family! i just hope his family get him out of jail, and back home where he should be. Im all for letting Ronnie Biggs out, and free in his own turff again. GO RONNIE! Be strong! and lookin forward to your freedom. I quite agree. It's pointless keeping an elderly, dying man locked up. He won't pose much threat if he can't talk, eat or walk unescorted. Hold on, Ron. You'll win.
Guest David Posted August 3, 2007 Okay, I'm new to the site. I have Biggs in my Dead Pool and our draft is this Monday. Yes, I've poured over the British papers, and haven't found anything new. Anyone have any updates on the old fella? Thanks in advance. P.S. I'm from the States, so there's not going to be info on the news of his latest ailment, that's why I'm seeking your help. He's still alive, right as rain & wasting taxpayers money. Think of him as a British Dr. Kevorkian or Tariq Aziz. Alleged to be "near death" but when there is an official review into their health, they're found, swiftly, to be "old, but well". Or that's my take on it anyway... Yep- he's still living for now - but he's been moved to hospital again.
Guest David Posted August 3, 2007 Ailing Biggs' family seek his release or with a bit more information & a picture: Biggs' son bleating on again He doesn't look all that ill in that picture. So will anyone here be signing the petition? I quite agree with what Mike Biggs says. To a lot of people, Ronnie Biggs is a criminal - but to him, he's just his ailing dad. How would the Belmarsh Governor feel if that was his dad? That's why thee's no justice.
Guest David Posted August 3, 2007 So the article mentions that he spends most of his day hooked up to an IV and that ol' Biggsie had coughing fits that kept his visit extra brief, but to be honest, in order for me to believe all that crap, I need to see video footage to determine how messed up the man really is. Corpse tease. If Ronnie does get out, I doubt we'll see the mad skills of the ol' global hide and seek champion. Excuse me - could we show a little bit more compassion, please? How would you feel if your dad was locked up in jail, facing the prospect of passing on? Mike Biggs is right - they should see his dad for what he really is - a frail, elderly, dying man and let him out. Abu Hamza will be out in less than three years - but poor old Ron's gonna pass on in a squalid prison hospital ward? That's why there's no justice.
Guest David Posted August 3, 2007 Belmarsh Governor rules that Biggs must stay in jail for life Right, Geoff. See how you feel when your dad's dying. Bet you'll be singing a different tune then.
Windsor 2,233 Posted August 3, 2007 Geoff's father did not rob a train, killing one man in the process. Nor did he escape justice in the 1960s only to come back 40 years later looking for someone to foot his medical bills.
Guest Guest Posted August 3, 2007 So David and Guest, not David Gest. Just out of interest were you sitting next to each other for lunch deciding to have your conversation through the medium of the deathlist forum. Or are you just the same person, saying essentially the same thing over the course of an hour.

Banshees Scream 110 Posted August 4, 2007 Let's face the facts and take it into perspective that if he is denied a release that should tell you Biggs isn't going to drop dead for at least this year. On the other hand if he is granted to be with his family that raises the question of if it will actually make a difference? If you get my tone.

Banshees Scream 110 Posted August 5, 2007 Get your tone? I can't makes heads or tails out of what your saying let alone your tone. What I'm saying is if Biggs remains in jail that might be the plan that benefits us rather then him going home. If he goes home that means freedom and big couches and big screen TV's and I believe once I heard Ronnie was with young Latina women (Or was it Brazilian women) so my point is if he was happened to be sent home that does not mean Ronnie isn't robbing the train. It seems to me that the major question with Ronnie (as well as Suharto and Kevorkian and Pinochet) is whether or not they're faking their illness to gain sympathy and freedom from prosecution/jail. I don't know enough about what kind of care Mr. Biggs would get out of jail but it seems that he's really sick and probably close to the end. But then again, what do I know? I haven't posted for ages and only reaquainted myself with the forum yesterday but I seem to remember that back when I was a regular the consensus was that Biggs was definetly on the way out. The fact that he is still around certainly makes it sound like he was faking ilness for the authroities.
Phantom 2,532 Posted August 5, 2007 I was under the impression that he wasn't terminally ill so didn't justify early release, but at the same time he has suffered a number of strokes and one more could be final.
Banshees Scream 110 Posted August 5, 2007 Through my eyes Ronnie Biggs is the most significant bullshit artist going and he is a long shot fading and fading more distant out of sight. That's all I could tell you.

That's all I could tell you. Thanks for that incisive insight BS. Ronnie Biggs is one of those "Pound of Flesh" cases where the British establishment, who he for a long time made Donkeys of, decided that, irrespective of the fact that he was a very old and frail man, would serve his time....and let that be a lesson to you all. He was a small time crook who was on the fringe of the Robbery ( my personal view) so let him go. PS: Perhaps he should plead senile dementia, It worked for Pinochet. That's all I could tell you. He should be put back in jail for timewasting He is in jail, it's just that he's in Belmarsh which is basically a prison hospital He's hardly a danger to the public or going to reoffend. I've said it before and I'll say it again... it's a waste of tax payers money keeping him in prison
Banshees Scream 110 Posted August 6, 2007 He's hardly a danger to the public or going to reoffend. Your missing the point completely. For god sakes I was being sarcastic, I just meant his freedom could possibly up his health rather then him remaining confined. I've said it before and I'll say it again... it's a waste of tax payers money keeping him in prison Look I'm not the British Government, I don't know how they run things but to me it's outrageous they are keeping this guy in jail. If I were the judge at his trial I would have said 'A year in prison' 'two years probation' and that should be the story. The British Government are selfish bastards probably trying to make an example out of something that happened over forty years ago and it's a load of sh*t. So Phantom if it actually wastes so much cash keeping Biggs behind bars - Why bother? If I haven't set it already.

Banshees Scream 110 Posted August 6, 2007 Changing Personal Viewpoint To Favor General ConsensusArguing Whilst Actually Agreeing With Previous Comment Talking Deathlist leave Biggs in jail because obviously he isn't having the time of his life. For this list and individuals who are involved with the sport of death certainly should want him to stay in prison because it won't increase his health at any eye brow raising extent. Some people might tell you if he gets released the Biggs show is over - Sorry I don't think so. I disagree. From the other viewpoint of generally common sense and realistically in my opinion he shouldn't be in jail considering his health and the degree of his crime. I mean the guy robbed a f****n train in 1963, why ruin his golden years? He has payed the price with his health and already in prison seven years. . . You know what, if you want to know why - I'll tell you why. Because the British Government is so far up their ass (Making an example) f**k them. PS Guest read the writing. I make perfect sense. The only thing you said that made any sense to me was vote me in. I'll think about it but it's a big responsibility. I'll let George W Bush dig himself out of the hole he dug. Either that or Hillary Clinton saves the world. Hold your breath.
