You then become bored and post nonsense on another thread. Dickie's longevity annoys you becauseyou have no control over it. Accept that. And then relax. Dickie's longevity annoys me because I expect better of Deathlist but whatever. I don't spend much time thinking about threads that I only post in to agree with others that it shouldn't be posted in. How many experts on strokes and depressive illness do we number in our membership? In short a haemorrhage, embolism or thrombus cuts off the blood supply to part of the brain and its tissue is destroyed. The narrower the vessel occluded the less, by and large, damage is caused. So the effect of Dickie's stroke is determined by its location and size. To complicate this further, people can recover function over time. This may have occurred in our hero's case. Finally the stroke seems to have occurred in a context of multiple long-term and acute physical and mental health problems. These may also resolve over time. This would also explain Dickie's surprisingly chipper presentation when encountered by our informant. God bless him for his pluck. PS I don't suppose anyone's heard anything of Tessa Wyatt have they? Does he visit him, I think it's disgusting that people get forgotten about, I didn't even know he was married twice, but never married to Tessa Wyatt and are there anymore Dicky O kids out there? It's a shame this wonderful thing called the internet has so many pages of useless idiot websites, but no Dicky O, it's shocking. I say if he is well enough, get him on a reality tv show or something, get him out of that waiting room they call Brinsworth House. Anyone gonna hatch a kidnap plan? I suspect that a number of internationally renowned directors are waiting for the final episode to play out at Brinsworth before filming his life story. However, the evidence seen recently suggests that they may have to wait a long time or consider a two-parter. If your kidnap goes ahead it would be well worth plagiarising the plot of Raid on Entebbe for part two. Queenie, please let me know if I can assist in his release in any way that is legal. There was also a 70s Leslie Crowther vehicle, 'My Good Woman' or something like that, which must have been as bad as any I've seen...... though the audience seemed pre-orgasmic with mirth. He hosted Crackerjack with the late great Peter Glaze in the 60s. Did anyone here ever attend Crackerjack. The audience consisted almost entirely of brownies and cubs. My sister was very fond of Dickie - she used to refer to him as if he were a mate. I think his appeal was that his image was unchallenging, laddish but with a soft centre - the boy next door. He may still have that charm. Mind you my sister also adored Gary Puckett who sang 'Young girl get out of my mind; your kind of love is way out of line etc etc.' If only Gary Glitter had shown similar self-restraint.
