Miguel Piñera has acute leukemia and "six months to live".

Two eminent brothers, including a two-time president, UK obit chances still negligable, mind, other than in the hideously permissive pools. Potential gold in the MMMDP, if that runs and if he makes the start line.

Architect of ul-Haq's martial law and partially the coup. ul-Haq was an anti-west dictator, nothing uncommon with that in that part of the world, but he islamized the country and funneled US money to future terrorist organizations. ul-Haq's protege and leader of his intelligence service Hamid Gul backed and saved Osama atleast once and financed the Talibans. Makes me wonder how different the world would be if this semi-obscure military leader was never born.

Preta Gil to undergo more surgeries after hospitalisation. Earlier she had traveled to the US for treatments as chemo in Brazil "did not produce the desired results". Apparently it has metastasized to the lymph nodes now.

Preta Gil underwent more surgeries this week. She appears stable, but her friends say she's living "one day at a time".
