Lady Grendel 139 Posted December 13, 2008 Sorry, It's Depeche Mode's 'Never Let Me Down Again', Lardy. See if this works . That doesn't seem to work either MdF the only link I can get to work is this, sorry . Oddly enough, a crap bit of trivia here, but Depeche Mode were the first band I ever saw live, Glasgow Barrowlands early 1980's, one of my friends had a spare ticket so dragged me along, they were surprisingly good, I think for me 'Master and Servant' would be my favourite DM track. welshman 31 Posted December 14, 2008 In keeping with the thread title (and mission) here a a groovy little number that was a firm favourite of at least four DL members (including two mods) Also a nice reminder of Top Of The Pops for all of us Brits of a "certain age"
DevonDeathTrip 2,358 Posted December 14, 2008 You Tube is great for digging out tunes half buried in the dark recesses of your mind. I always thought The Who sung this, but they didn't. Jamie! Jamie! Jamie and the Magic Torch. Down the helter skelter, faster and faster towards Cuckoo Land. Wordsworth! Wordsworth! Following hard behind. Ready for adventure, always there to lend a paw ...or hand! Mr Boo and all the others too, the strangest people you've ever seen. And the torch with its magical beam - If I hadn't really been there I'd think that I was dreaming! Jamie! Jamie! No two nights are the same. Life is one long glorious game with Jamie. Jamie and the Magic Torch!
Lard Bazaar 3,799 Posted December 14, 2008 I think the thing with this type of thread is that what you might find groovy today, might get on your tits tomorrow. This is how I feel today. But tomorrow, I might feel like Nana Mouskouri.

Godot 149 Posted December 14, 2008 You tube doesn't appear to have Val Doonican singing Puff the Magic Dragon - a great shame - but here's the great man on HD TV inventing space invaders. Stay with it and there's the theme tune to Vandervalk on the Ocarina with a cameo from the ariel repair man. plus Lena Zavaroni dueting with Harry Potter not Val, but Peter, Paul and Mary. Ahh! LG, very brave to admit it!! Depeche Mode are from my neck of the woods, good old Basildon Essex, well it used to be. Used to see them a lot in the town, Alison Moyet too. I nearly ran Vince Clarke over once, pity I didnt do a proper job..

Dave to the Grave 11 Posted December 20, 2008 Parliafunkadelicamentwithadultnappiesandamazingtitfers That's made me feel quite peculiar, NSFW. A distant second but fine fellows are quite funky. For DL relevance this video was filmed in Fraserburgh. For students of dance, this tune is credited with starting the line dancing craze. Sir Nose D'Voidoffunk indeed. Dia de los Muertos 7 Posted December 26, 2008 I've been listening to this track a lot lately... I've got tickets to see him in Feb 20th, can't wait! And here is my favourite live Radiohead memory: it is the encore from their 2006 tour.... very trippy. This is the best version I could find. It is not perfect, but gives you an idea. And talking about trippy, check this one out! Oh, and for laughs, there's always the spiders on drugs. Enjoy!
Lard Bazaar 3,799 Posted December 29, 2008 This one is funky as f**k, and reminds me of being about 16. A very long time ago.

harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy 1,684 Posted January 23, 2009 As a tribute to the recently departed "unsung hero of Welsh guitar playing", Mickey Gee, here's one of his finest audio moments, although he doesn't actually appear on the clip. He also played in Tom Jones's backing band in the 60s and on many Shakin' Stevens hits. Be thankful I didn't link to This Ole House.

I shall start with one of my faves, a very cool tune and and a cooler vid. IMHO of course......... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=9mgjZK46_uw This song was written about Anton from "The Brian Jonestown Massacre". He wrote a reply called "Not if you were the last Dandy on earth". I couldn't find the video, but thought you might find it interesting, if you don't know it already, of course.
