angryGreatness 96 Posted December 12, 2012 typical..they either linger on for ages or sneak under the radar like that .Oh well that's 19 hits for the year if you include all the current and former names on deathlist.Could be a record RIP Ravi Shankar. Another nailed on list names dies. That's 4 gone in the last week or so. But you can't count anything as 19. Don't work like that. I think he's saying that the amount of DL names that have died this year is 19. The 12 this year, plus Geoffrey Hughes, Ernest Borgnine, Dom Mintoff, Ravi Shankar, Gore Vidal, Sir Patrick Moore, & somebody who I'm forgetting.

Larry Hagman. 2012's sum of hits and misses[1] stands at 19, a tie for first place with 2003 and 2006. [1]Miss defined as: a person who dies in a calendar year, who's not a pick on that year's list, but was before[2]. Magere Hein 1,400 Posted December 12, 2012 Where does William Hartnell fit in? He, and Wilfred Bramble, don't fit, as both died before the inaugural DeathList. regards, Hein

Miss defined as: a person who dies in a calendar year, who's not a pick on that year's list, but was before. but larry hagman hasnt been on the list since 1996 how is that considered a miss Let's see: died in 2012: check was not on the 2012 list: check was on the list before: check Therefore a 2012 miss, according to the above definition. I think you read "before" as "the year before", but the definition doesn't say that. regards, Hein

DevonDeathTrip 2,358 Posted August 16, 2013 I couldn't find another thread for sitar players, so Ravi's will have to do. Mick Taylor, not the ex-Rolling Stone, but the classical sitar player, is suffering from incurable multiple myeloma. He may be better known in India than he is the UK and is considered to be the best non Indian practitioner of the instrument. I'm not sure if that would translate to a UK obit, but you never know.
