As Eurovision entries go this was quite predictable and most of the derision comes from the fact that they scored nul points but considering this was the year of the Iraq war how much of the scoring was politically based. It is sad to say that since thiis debarcle we have actually entered worse songs such as Scooch and the guy whose name I can't remember but he rapped sat on a school desk and his backing dancers were all dressed as school girls.

Munich, 10.06.1982: Film director, actor and screenwriter Rainer Werner Fassbinder died at age 37.

The cause of death was reported as heart attack resulting from a lethal combination of sleeping pills and cocaine.

Fassbinder is considered one of the most important representatives of the New German Cinema (Neuer Deutscher Film) of the 1970s and 80s.

Peter Allen, Australian songwriter and entertainer, died on the 18th of June 1992 from an AIDS-related throat cancer.

He had an Australian No.1-hit with “I go to Rio” in 1977, was married to Liza Minnelli (from 1967 to 1974) and won an Oscar for Best Song in 1982 for “Arthur’s Theme (Best that you can do)”.
