msc 18,475 Posted March 28, 2016 Has it ever been fully confirmed that he died while enjoying the "attentions" of a rather Reubenesque groupie at a sci-fi convention? I hadn't heard that particular aspect of it before. In congress and in costume was the rumour I heard "Oh my god, I've killed Doctor Who!" Apparently the fan in question was well known in those circles, so it should be a fairly easily verifiable story if true. There's lots of Dr Who behind the scenes rumours though. rockhopper penguin 2,265 Posted March 31, 2016 John Donne died on this day in 1631. (He was the English version of Don Juan) No man is an island, Entire of itself, Every man is a piece of the continent, A part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less. As well as if a promontory were. As well as if a manor of thy friend's Or of thine own were: Any man's death diminishes me, Because I am involved in mankind, And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee. Spade_Cooley 9,527 Posted April 1, 2016 Giorgio Chinaglia died today in 2012.Arguably the greatest Welsh-Italian-American mob affiliate who wanted to play rugby not football in history. The best Chinaglia stories could fill a thread on their own, but special reference must go to him managing to make Pele run out of a dressing room crying and this tale from his apprenticeship at Swansea City: when the club’s handyman asked him to help with a painting job, the young player picked up the paint tin and flung its contents against the wall of the stand.
