So here's a thread to post any stories about the boys in blue who are supposed to protect us..

Are we talking about the same newspaper salesman who was minding his own business, had f**k all to do with the protests and, as you do, just happened to be in an area that the police were trying to clear and, as you do, decided that he was not to be rushed/moved on etc, etc, so PC Plod, frustrated at yet another twat wanting to be bloody minded, decided to push the prat along?

Strangely, with hands in pockets and a "I dont give a f**k if you are Plod or not, there was utter shock that he hit the deck like a sack of sh*t.

Thinking back to the old days, the Police would have, at the very least, escorted him around to an alleyway and kicked the f**k out of him there instead of doing it infront of all and sundry.

Coppers aint wot they used to be.

who bemoan political correctness and form filling but can be just as brutal on the quiet....

As I have family members who work in the police force risking their lives every day, I am just going to say this now & keep my piece in this thread:-

 

There are a HUGE amount of people in the police force who do a superb job, many of whom risk their lives daily. There are obviously exceptions to the rule, situations which are inexcusable mistakes & there is a lot of room for improvement within the industry, but overall, I'd rather have the police around then any of the unwashed G20 protesters, none of whom likely have a "proper" job.

 

So, ALL coppers are bastards. Not at all. Don't let the minority overshadow the sterling work of the majority.

 

I don't think it would be fair for me to comment on the Tomlinson death as a result.

The title of this thread is not entirely unironic OoO....

 

I know that there are a lot of dedicated policemen and women who have to contend with all sorts of shite,

but at the same time, there is a definite bovver boy element within the force who enjoy putting it about a bit

in situations like this.

 

And racism is still prevalent...

 

But you could also point the finger at politicians and the various policies that are conferred onto the police, usually

at the whim of a Daily Mail editorial.

Years ago (too many to count) when I was a nipper growing up, if you got into trouble with the cops, usually a big burly Sargent would clout you behind the head with his hand, you were too fekin scared to tell your Ma or Da 'cos you knew they would clout you as well.

 

Now, it seems that if a copper looks at you the wrong way, he seems to get into trouble. Not all coppers are bastards, like many other jobs out there (or for those still lucky enough to have one) there is always the rogue element , one bad apple and all that.

 

Next time you are in trouble, call a hippy instead instead of the cops.

Personally knowing quite a number of illegitimate gentlemen of the bituminous headgear sporting variety, I can confirm that a great majority of them are only really interested in 1) Getting promoted so they can earn more money, and 2) Getting as much time off as possible.

 

The bent bastards are the inquiry commissions, public prosecuters and the like who make sure that next to no allegations of police brutality ever end in a prosecution.

 

Here in the Fatherland it's not unheard of for it to be impossible to identify an officer because he has a big helmet on and no visible number.
